From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton, "John Carter of Mars" is a sweeping action adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). Based on the classic sci-fi novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the film tells the story of John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter discovers that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Thanks to Barsoomia for the heads up.

Along Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe, the rest of the cast includes Mark Strong, Bryan Cranston, James Purefoy, Dominic West, Thomas Haden Church and Ciarán Hinds. John Carter is set to hit theatres on March 9, 2012!

Great looking scene, hopefully from a new trailer, too. And Sola looks quite good there, but I surely need a lot more of her.

I'm currently reading the first novel right now. It's pretty amazing. (About 50 pages in, he just saw Dejah for the first time.)

This movie looks great. I'm excited for it.

This movie's gonna suck all sorts of weiner. Seriously, am I the only one who's NOT impressed by this at all? Especially by the poopy trailer that uses a generic rock, choir song. "AHDHABA, LAHLAHLAH, ETOWAY, LETYGO, LAHLAHLAH!"
