Dredd 3D hits UK cinemas tomorrow, but for those still waiting for the action flick to be released, two brand new television spots have hit the web featuring snippets of all-new footage from the film which is directed by Peter Travis and stars Karl Urban (Star Trek, Lord of the Rings). View the thirty-second spots below!

The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge – a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed. During a routine day on the job, Dredd is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them to a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare to venture- a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty, vicious war against the Judges that proves she will stop at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in the relentless battle for their survival.

Dredd 3D stars Karl Urban as Judge Dredd, Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson, Lena Headey as Madeline Madrigal, Domhnall Gleeson as Travis Synders, Langley Kirkwood as Judge Lex, Francis Chouler as Judge Guthrie and Deobia Oparei as Judge T.J. Alvarez! The film hits cinemas September 21st, 2012!

I actually didn´t expect it to flop, I gave it a chance and knew that most people were going to be surprised after seeing that Urban knew the character and respected him.

Assuming this film is good (let's say it is), Lionsgate need to milk the promotion big time. I'm not sure Dredd 3D is going to have big US box office but it could open bigger than expected.

The new tv spot - the one with Dredd saying "you betray the law, you betray the city" - is great. Really captures the feel of 2000AD's Judge Dredd. :) Cool music too.

And the second tv spot has the slightly annoying reverse images - Dredd saying "I am the law" on the left of the screen when in all the other clips he was saying it on the right!

So much Win! i love the The Dark Knight Trilogy, but i have to say THAT is how Batman should have delivered his dialogues, instead of the "WHURR IS THUR DETINATORRR""

not gonna spoil it for anyone just wanna say that urban plays dredd like a recoiled snake ready to strike. the fan boy in me is a very happy one indeed. my only gripe is that there was no promotion for dredd in the foyer at cineworld so im gonna spread the word to see if we can all make this film the success it deserves to be.
