Animation Writer Bob Goodman Wants To Tackle A Live Action DC Movie
Bob Goodman has done some terrific work when it comes to adapting some of DC Comics' most popular graphic novels into animated movies. Now, he is wanting to take his talents to live action media by penning a movie for one of their characters. Click here to see what he had to say.
If it is one thing where DC has the upper hand over Marvel, it is their animated feature films. DC has been churning out hits thanks to the likes of Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano, and the late great Dwayne McDuffie. Another person who has been intricate in the success of the latest batch of films is screen writer Bob Goodman. Goodman has penned the screenplay for both parts of The Dark Knight Returns, handled Superman: Unbound, and has countless other writing credits including the Justice League cartoon and The Batman. Now it seems Goodman is wanting to take his talents to live action. Telling The Realm Cast at the premiere for The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, " I personally would like a crack at writing these (DC Characters) in the live action feature world, but we’ll see if I ever get that chance." While it looks like he is pretty gung ho to do it, he didn't specify what character he would like to tackle.
With Will Beall handling writing duties for Justice League (rumor has it David Goyer will look over the script) and there being multiple screenplays for all other DC heroes already. It's very difficult to say which DC hero Goodman could take a crack at that doesn't already have a script. However, his writing does speak for it's self in the realm of animation, and DC would be crazy not to at least listen to what the man has to say.
