CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS - PART 3 Will Feature Kevin Conroy And Mark Hamill As Batman And Joker

We know Will Friedle's Batman Beyond will show up in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 2, and IGN is reporting that he won't be the only animated Dark Knight who shows up for a cameo.

According to the site (via Toonado.com), the late Kevin Conroy's final Batman performance will be in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 3 (instead of the divisive Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League).

It's said the upcoming threequel will also feature Mark Hamill's Joker, meaning we can look forward to a long-awaited reunion for the Batman: The Animated Series and Arkham trilogy stars.

The full cast list is undeniably impressive as it includes some big surprises, such as Katee Sackhoff's return as Poison Ivy and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Corey Stoll as the villainous Lex Luthor. This hasn't been officially announced yet, but the site says their intel comes from "a source close to the production."

Here are the actors who will reportedly join this trilogy during its final chapter:

  • Kevin Conroy - Batman
  • Mark Hamill - Joker
  • Corey Stoll - Lex Luthor
  • Brian Bloom - Adam Strange & Sidewinter
  • Elysia Rotaru - Black Canary
  • Armen Taylor - Jay Garrick
  • Cynthia Kaye McWilliams - Dr. Beth Chapel/Cheetah
  • Dean Winters - Captain Storm
  • Jason Spisak - Blue Lantern Razer, Hayseed
  • Brett Halton - Batlash & Captain Atom
  • Ashly Burch - Nightshade, Queen Mera
  • Katee Sackhoff - Poison Ivy

Hamill has made it clear that he doesn't want to play The Joker without Conroy's Batman, so we're guessing he was convinced to return for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 3 because it meant he could share the screen with his old friend one final time.

"An endless army of Shadow Demons bent on the destruction of all reality swarms over our world and all parallel Earths," reads the synopsis for the upcoming Part Two. "The only thing opposing them is the mightiest team of metahumans ever assembled."

"But not even the combined power of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and all their fellow superheroes can slow down the onslaught of this invincible horde. What mysterious force is driving them? And how do the long-buried secrets of the Monitor and Supergirl threaten to crush our last defense?"

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two is directed by Jeff Wamester from a script by Jim Krieg. Casting and voice direction is by Wes Gleason. The movie will be available on April 9 and on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on April 23.

@McMurdo - I like it. i do. It's a great anaimated movie. But I probably don't like it as much as many others do.

I actually like 'Sub Zero' a bit more and my favorite BATman:TAS movie.

I’m so glad that shitty Suicide Squad game won’t be Kevin’s last outing as Batman. He deserves a respectful send off.

@AnthonyVonGeek - first they never knew he was going to die, second he agreed on that, what's the issue?

@braunermegda - Because it's dumb and random of an end and they knew after they were making the game and didn't cut it or change the animation or record dialogue to outright say the character was alive.
braunermegda
braunermegda - 2/29/2024, 5:14 PM
@dagenspear - dude that is not how a game develop works, to cut something like that in an advanced stage as it was it would cost tons of money and time to redo things
dagenspear
dagenspear - 2/29/2024, 5:44 PM
@braunermegda - Recording lines and cutting scenes isn't how game development works? It doesn't take redoing much of anything to do that.
braunermegda
braunermegda - 2/29/2024, 6:52 PM
@dagenspear - it isn't, to cut something important like that to the story it would have to rewrite, then it would need more actors, capture, animators, developers, modeling, if not concept art for what the changes would be, then voice actors, editing, polishing, rigging and so on. It's not let's cut this part and that's it.

@braunermegda - Batman dying isn't important to the story. They don't need any of that to cut a scene. I presented other options that weren't redoing it. Just cut it or a dub over dialogue that he's alive. Don't need almost any of that to do those things. It serves no real purpose. Killing any of them serves no real purpose, because it's dumb to just have them killed as they are. The game is dumb.

Back to my overall point, killing Batman at all in this, I think was a poor writing move, before anything else happened.

This is excellent news.

It's really kind of the end of an era, not just of the Tomorrowverse, but possibly of this era of DC Universe DTVs, which of course has a legacy stretching back to the DCAU and the original BTAS, with Kevin's Batman and Mark's Joker.

I'm hoping we see a full strata of these animated universes in these movies. You don't have to have actual guest appearances that are animated and voice recorded, just archive footage would be easy enough and would be greatly appreciated.

Wonder if Conroy ever got a chance to record anything for that audio revival of BTAS that was announced a while back

if he did would be cool if they did something with those recording considering there is no point in continuing that without him

With that said these Tomorrowverse movies aren’t that great.

Part 2 isn't even out for a couple more months. Part 1 was pretty bad and so has the rest of the Tomorrowverse since after Man of Tomorrow, which I did like. These movies have just been getting worse and worse with each one released. I suspect this news is because Part 1 under-performed so badly that they are doing everything besides actually writing a good script and making the movie look good instead of this terrible art style direction they went. I have loved DC animation my entire life and seen just about everything.

BTW anyone looking for a good interpretation of the comic story will be very disappointed, they made so many asinine changes that it's not remotely the same or as good.
