UPDATE: JUSTICE LEAGUE: WAR Confirmed For 2014 Release; Based On "New 52" Origin Arc

It has been confirmed that the first 2014 DC animated movie is Justice League: War, which is based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first story arc for "The New 52" line.

By PaulRom - Jul 16, 2013 09:07 AM EST

It was previously reported that DC Animation's next film following Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox is titled Justice League: War. No other details were known, other than an assumed 2014 release. Now, "Super PR Guy" Gary Miereanu has confirmed this via Twitter, ahead of the official San Diego Comic-Con announcement later this week. The film is based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first Justice League story arc in "The New 52", which focuses on the origins of the superhero team. It makes sense to release this right after a Flashpoint adaptation, as that story arc led to the beginning of the new continuity. Additionally, Miereanu revealed that Jason O'Mara (Terra Nova) is voicing Batman in the animated feature. No further casting or other details have been confirmed, but stay tuned to CBM for an official announcement this week straight out of Comic-Con.

UPDATE: Via World's Finest Online, we have more details for Justice League: War. Jay Oliva is directing, and other JL members have been cast. Michelle Monaghan (Source Code) is voicing Wonder Woman, Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) is The Flash, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) will portray Superman, Justin Kirk (Angles In America) is Green Lantern, and Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) will voice Cyborg.

Apparently this guys Brother is Mark O'Mara the defense attorney for George Zimmerman!!???

If true, this is in poor taste.

It's not poor taste. Why should what his brother does for a living affect what he does for a living?

Ug. They keep trying new voices for Batman. They all suck for the most part. Peter Weller was good as older Batman, but the rest blow. Why cant they just use Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, Michael Rosenbaum, Susan Eisenberg, Phil Lamarr and so on? Stick to the same voices for the same characters. They can use new actors for new characters. Its great talent they are hiring, but they just dont fit the bill when you already have the best it could be.

Oh god, here comes the CONROY IS THE BEST BATMAN idiots who are gonna bitch and complain about him not voice acting the character in this new movie. He is singlehandedly the most overused voice actor in animation period and his performances have in my opinion just gone down hill. Its blatantly obvious to me hes just doing this character over and over because thats all everyone associates him with and its his only source of income. Hes overused and him not coming back is a only a positive from here on out as far as Im concerned.

@ monkey balls @levitcuz

The guy makes a joking or passing remark on his twitter account about the trial

I find that in poor taste

and my comment's not off just an immediate reaction to what looks like insensitivity to a high profile case like this

@0bstreperous

Its insensitive to hire the guy of the attorney of a criminal in a high profile case, even though the guy has NO relation to the actual case except the fact that his the brother of a guy involved in it. You're basically condemning a guy getting hired for a job because hes related to a guy defending a criminal during a case, how is that right again?

I find it funny how people say everyone sucks besides Conroy. They don't suck, you just automatically believe they suck because you are blindly obsessed with Conroy.

All Jason O'Mara said on Twitter about the Zimmerman trail is this:

When the Zimmerman trial ends, the first thing I am going to do is borrow 100 bucks from my brother, Mark. He can afford it.

That has nothing to do with Trayvon Martin, it was just a joke.

YES. This is going to be amazing. I''m loving the New 52 Justice League. Tudyk as Supes? That's an interesting choice. What would've been even crazier, though, is if Nathan Fillion was voicing GL.

Cool to see they're doing New 52 films now. "Night Of The Owls" and "Death Of The Family" adaptations are musts. There are still some classic stories I'd like to see them tell though. Another Wonder Woman film, and a Flash film would be welcome as well.

i feel like they're cramming cyborg down our throats. hopefully not trying to prepare us for an onscreen justice league including cyborg...... i pray that's not the case... New 52 is garbage. i say we keep the costume changes, most of them anyway and go back to the REAL origins

@Bread

Cause hes overrated, overused and hes just doing it for a pay check now because no one will hire him for any other role?
