It looks like there may have been early plans to include Hal Jordan in the DCEU Justice League team after all.

Concept artist Jerad S.Marantz has shared some of his designs for the ring-slinging hero from his "time on the Snyderverse." The costume is quite similar to the one Wayne T. Carr wore as Green Lantern John Stewart in a deleted scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Carr was cast as Stewart for the director's cut, and filmed a brief cameo for the end of the movie. Studio executives reportedly weren't keen on Stewart's inclusion, and the character was ultimately replaced by Martian Manhunter in the final version of the film.

Could we see Snyder step behind the camera for another DC Comics-based film at some point? Snyder and James Gunn have been in contact since the news that the DCEU was being rebooted as the DCU was announced, but the chances of the former returning to the fold seem pretty slim. Still, the fact that Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran will continue to develop Elseworlds projects means we can't completely rule anything out.

“You know, I’m a pretty open book. I really feel like, you know, if the characters are treated with reverence, and mythologically correct, then I’m down. I’m in,” Snyder said when asked about the DCU relaunch last year. “Let’s see what happens. I’m pretty excited. I mean, we’re going to get Superman pretty soon, so we’ll see what that’s like.”

Jordan can currently be seen in HBO's Lanterns, played by Kyle Chandler.

HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The pilot episode is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, who are co-creators for the series. Mundy serves as showrunner. The first two episodes are directed by James Hawes, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct. The series is executive produced by Mundy, Lindelof, James Gunn, Peter Safran, King, Ron Schmidt, and Hawes. Based on the DC comic characters from Green Lantern.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

Looks like a video game design, but wouldn't mind seeing it in live action, but it's still miles better than the Lanterns suit.

Sigh. I'm not remotely a "Restore the Snyder Verse" guy. Those movies had their chance & it was a mixed bag, any way you slice it.

That said, this is so much better than the Lanterns show Hal suit, it's not even funny.

Zack Snyder is a genius! He's playing chess while everyone else is playing tiddlywinks! Imagine what we could've gotten if he'd just been allowed more than 10 years to cook! He only needed like 3 more movies for us to see the heroic Superman we're used to from the comics! Sad!

At least has the green glow around him.

I hate that both Guy and Hal don’t have a green glow around them when flying, it shows the ring’s energy around them. They both look so boring and dull.

I really like the projected lantern logo they were going with. I just wish the production teams for these projects weren't so afaid of white gloves lol
