Kick Ass' Chloe Moretz as Abby in the Let the Right One In remake

Overture films has released the first image of rising star Chloe Moretz as the vampire Abby in the remake of Let The Right One In.

The film is scheduled for release this October and stars Moretz as the immortal vampire child Abby (Eli in the original) that befriends a shy boy Owen or Oskar in the original (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is constantly picked on in school and their friendship is very intriguing as is Abby's relationship with her 'familiar' who will be played by the brilliant Richard Jenkins.

I loved the foreign and original version of this movie and that ending sequence is one of the best things ever put on film, so I'm weary of this. But I like the cast and I hope it does well. Moretz is a star now and here's hoping she continues to do well so that the Kick Ass sequel actually becomes a reality some day.

Ya the original is a classic I agree I think she'll be fine in her part but I don't really think that this had to be remade why not just watch it with subtitles? I heard that Guillermo del Toro's movie The Orphanage is being redid too which I dont agree with either

cawarrior@ i heard about that to, most foreign subtitles movies are being remade, last rumor i read was of old boy getting a remake, hopefully it's fake because perish the thought of them ruining the original :0

the movies gonna be good.. probably not as good as the original but who knows. either way who cares.. its being made.. everyone can stop cumming over the orignial.. if its not good oh well, that has no impact on the original its gonna be just as great.. how about the lameness of the graphic novel being made about this? A hollywood remake is lame.. so why isnt a graphic novel 2 years after the oringinal, trying to cash in?

There are always going to be purist who want don't want to see the original tainted with a remake, but the truth is that I loved the original w/theatrical subtitles and will see this when it comes out, the graphic novel is just a way to show the new movie coming out and for Dark Horse to get into the act. The Ring was a great remake of a foreign film, some of the others were not done so well I think mainly because the material is not easily translatable and Directors often want to Americanize the story.

luffy

I think they going to play her as a straight up girl in this version. Which is a shame, since that element was so unexpected (for those who never read the book) and played masterfully. It could be an OK flick, but it won't touch the original.

Well done Keven. I'll spare you the lame Simpsons reference.

HahahAH...Umm... yeah. Another reason to be glad high school is over.

I guess if I was really going to spare you, I wouldn't have mentioned it at all.

I can't wait to see it, can't get my family to see many of the foreign films. Plus the redo of Rec as Quarantine was done really well so who's to say that a good American remake can't be done?
@deadpool I would love to see an X-23 movie but probably not gonna happen

The original film was brilliant, she was great as Hit Girl so lets see how she does as Eli or "Abby" if you prefere.
