Mark Millar Wants THOR: RAGNAROK Star Tessa Thompson To Play The New KICK-ASS

Comic book creator Mark Millar has revealed that he already has someone in mind to play the new, female Kick-Ass and he's singled out Thor: Ragnarok breakout star Tessa Thompson. Check it out...

Last year, it was revealed that Mark Millar is bringing Kick-Ass back as a black woman and military veteran. Inspired by Dave Lizewski (whose story wrapped up after four volumes of the comic books series), she's expected to make her debut later this year but the comic book writer - who recently signed a deal with Netflix - already has some ideas about who should ultimately take on the role.

That is Thor: Ragnarok and Westworld star Tessa Thompson, an actress whose star has been on the rise for the past few years now. The Kick-Ass franchise isn't part of the aforementioned Netflix deal so the chances of another movie happening - starring this actress - ultimately hinges on whether or not Lionsgate would be interested. Seeing as Kick-Ass 2 was a flop, that may be a pretty hard sell.

There's no denying that Thompson would be a perfect fit for the new Kick-Ass, though, and with female-led superhero movies increasing in popularity, there's a very good chance this could happen.

@CaptDeadpool - I prefer a Hit-Girl spinoff instead of a Kick-Ass 3.

Is that banner image from a real comic? I only ask because I haven't read any of Millar's stuff since Kick-Ass 3.

I wouldn’t want another KickAss that didn’t Star Aaron Taylor. But I’d love to see a Hitgirl solo film starring Chloe Moretz.

I am all for this!!! I love how he allows his works to be adapted while he's writing them, and we end up with very different films from the movies(Kingsman and Golden Circle), or ones that are very close and still have freedom to breathe (Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2). Bring it! I also like that his new Kick-Ass is a grown woman, and military vet, and a mother, inspired by a kid! I hope Cop Dave shows up!

Yeah, I'm sure studios are rushing to make this happen after the tremendous success of Kick-Ass 2. Fans are clamoring for more!

I'd rather have a Kick-Ass 3 movie, that wraps up like the books do first.
