Starting her MCU career way back in 2015 debuting in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron", Elizabeth Olsen was Marvel's notable choice for playing the MCU's version of 'The Scarlet Witch.' Her roles since then have significantly placed the character on an immense pedestal of power, as she had done extrordinary actions such as going toe-to-toe against the Mad Titan 'Thanos', and would have beaten him almost.
In most recent projects, Wanda Maximoff has proved she is far more powerful than we ever believed -- mind controlling all of Westview in 'WandaVision', and serving as the proprietary main antagonist in 'Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness'. In her latest project, that being Multiverse of Madness, it seems Wanda may not entirely be done for, as various theories and rumors are being proposed by fans of the character, which may in fact be true regarding her return.
What does Elizabeth Olsen, the actress that plays Wanda Maximoff think about all of this? Is she anxious to return for her mischievous role yet again? Well, her answer may surprise some of you.
During a conversation Olsen had between Meghann Fahy, in Variety's Actors on Actors talk, Fahy proposed the question on if Olsen misses portraying the character.
Fahy: "People always want to find a through line. Do you miss doing Wanda?"
Olsen: "No, I don’t. I think it’s been almost 10 years of playing her. And I’ve loved it. And I think the reason why l am not calling Kevin Feige everyday with ideas is because I’m really proud of what we were able to do. I think 'WandaVision' was a really surprising opportunity. If someone were to tell me that I’m fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made. And I really am just trying to figure out how to load up other films and characters, so it becomes less about the Marvel of it all.”
Olsen's foremost feelings convey her gratitude toward Kevin Feige for giving her such an empowering role to play, that now has their very own fanbase for the character. What she would feel in spite of if her characters path was to come to a halt right this second would be similarly correlated to the whole "it's about the journey, not the destination" preach.
When looking back on this nearly 10-year long journey she has been on, she will look back on it with immense pride.
Marvel Studio's President, 'Kevin Feige', shared his thoughts on working with Olsen:
“I’d work with Lizzie [Olsen] for another 100 years if we could. Anything’s possible in the Multiverse! We’ll have to see.”
Of course, the Multiverse does now bring the possibility of any previous character we saw perish in the current MCU timeline be able to make a return by just bringing in their variant, so the same does go for Wanda Maximoff.
Although, her return does sound imminent.
