Marvel Studios didn't quite steal the show at D23, but that doesn't mean they didn't drop some big announcements! Disney has now shared additional details about the TV shows set in the MCU, offering fans a better idea of what to expect as we head into Phase 5 next year.
With Ironheart, it's confirmed that the show takes place after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and that it, as expected, focuses on Riri Williams, a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world. It's said that "Her unique take on building iron suits is both brilliant and flawed, and 'Ironheart' delves into the dynamics of tech versus magic."
As for Armor Wars, that was once again confirmed to be on the way, with Don Cheadle set as the show's lead. "Rhodey fans will see the character in a whole new light," Disney promises, "and considering the title of the series, audiences can look forward to all-new suits for the hero, featuring different types of armor."
Loki season 2 has added Ke Huy Quan to the cast of the series "that picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority."
Footage shown for Echo reveals that Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk will don an eyepatch following the events of Hawkeye, confirming that he survived being gunned down by Maya Lopez. In the series, we'll pick up with that character as her "ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown."
Finally, there's a Werewolf by Night synopsis that better explains what fans can expect from the Halloween special. "On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader," it reads. "In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader's life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic - a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster."
That monster could be Werewolf by Night...or even Man-Thing! The MCU is expanding rapidly, telling a variety of stories and introducing a plethora of new characters.
How all of this will eventually link up remains to be seen. Phase 4 has felt a tad disjointed, though we're sure all of these heroes and villains are eventually going to cross paths.
