Disney has revealed release dates for its entire slate of movies from 2020 right through to 2027, and it includes quite a few Marvel and Star Wars projects.

On the superhero side of things, we'll see two new MCU films next year (most likely The Eternals and Black Widow), and then three more in 2021 and 2022.

As for the galaxy far, far away, The Rise of Skywalker will be the last Star Wars movie until December 2022. From there, we’ll get one in December 2024, and another in December 2026. This is almost certainly one of the new trilogies that are in the works, but we have no idea if it'll be the one being developed by Rian Johnson or Game of Thrones duo David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Could any of the 2022 Marvel movies possibly incorporate characters from The X-Men or Fantastic Four? Well, we were led to believe that it'd be at least 5 years before Kevin Feige and co. would be able to get things moving on that front, but you never know!

What do you guys think? Do you have a fair idea what these untitled projects might be? Drop us a comment down below.

@knocturnalzen10 - quite interesting that its only a year away for some and still they are untitled... what does Marvel have up its sleeve now?
Could they have been throwing us off the scent all along and have FF and Xmen planned, secretly have cast those roles and been doing work on them?

@JonC - I guess Feige wants to have another Hollywood theater fan meeting with those titles AND the people already cast for the roles coming on stage!

@JonC - one thing i've learned about Feige thru these years is this dude can plan and map out things like no other . imo

@JonC -

Nah, the two Untitled in 2020 are the only two movies being cast right now:

Black Widow
The Eternals

... maybe it's just because there's been no crazy big official announcement for them. But it's most definitely those two.

New Mutants on April 3, 2020 will be the highest grossing movie of all time.

Odd that they are untitled this late in the game. I still have my doubts that they are Black Widow, Eternals, etc.

@TheUnworthyThor - I said it in my post. They haven’t officially announced those titles. You’d think they would have announced them already. Why wait at this point?

@malschla - I figured they were just waiting for the announcements until after Endgame and spoilers were all over with.

They'll most likely do a big announcement much like the Phase 3 event at the El Cap, or D23 in August.

@JoeInTheBox - I thought it was said after Spiderman we'll get the official announcement. 1)Black Widow, 2)Dr. Strange 2, 3)Black Panther 2, 3)Eternals, 4)Shang Chi, 5)Guardians 3....6)F4 or 7)Xmen round the last two.
TheUnworthyThor
TheUnworthyThor - 5/7/2019, 11:28 AM
@malschla - They refused to talk about anything past Endgame officially, the announcements will come. But with Black Widow we are talking about a movie with writers, a director, an art director, production designer, a cinematographer and a cast that has openly confirmed they are in the movie. It’s hard to deny it’s happening.

@malschla - Since when has Feige announced any MCU titles without any fanfare or showmanship? That's just one of the many aspects of him as a lead producer that distinguishes him from his esteemed competition, who at one point released a slate of films during a business meeting via a power point presentation.

Also Feige did say that they weren't releasing any new info on what comes next until after Far From Home, so Comic Con/D23 this year will indeed be where they do so.

@malschla - kevin Feige has stated they dont want to announce any of the 2020 films and the other films until after Spider-Man 2 comes out. Once Phase 3 is over, they'll announce the Phase 4 slate, unlike what they did with Phase 3 where they announced everythnig in the middle of Phase 2

@LongMayHeReign @eagc1995 - If you guys are fans of the whole releasing a full slate..,, don’t be surprised if they take a different turn when it comes to advertising their slates. You wanna know what their next movie/phase story is gonna be? Watch the next movie, and let it be a slow burn of bread crumbs until fans realize what it is that they’re doing next. Kind of like the Old phase 1 days (Specifically With iron mans post credit). One movie announced at a time. Ones you saw coming satisfyingly and others, huge shockers.

@XelCorp - Oh I know, Feige already said they won't announce as many films as they did for phase 3. I believe they will announce each year's upcoming films at the previous Comic Con/D23. So for example, at Comic Con this year they will announce what the two 2020 films be and so on. It's impossible for them to only announce 1 at a time and still have 2-3 films each year.

The 6 MCU release dates were already known.

Notable missing dates that Marvel Studios had previously reserved are:

August 7, 2020
July 30, 2021 (it looks like this has been re-assigned to a Disney Live-Action film)

Here are all the Disney Live-action re-imaginings in the works:

Aladdin - 5/24/2019
The Lion King - 7/19/2019
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil – 10/18/2019
Mulan - 3/27/2020

Lady & the Tramp (Disney+) – no release date (Justin Theroux & Tessa Thompson attached as the leads)
The Little Mermaid - No release date (Rob Marshall directing, Lin-Manuel Miranda writing songs)
Cruella (101 Dalmatians) - No release date (Emma Stone attached to star)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (David Henry Hwang directing) – no release date
Peter Pan - No release date (David Lowery directing)
Pinocchio - No release date (Paul King directing, Chris Weitz writing)
The Sword in the Stone - No release date (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo directing)
Snow White - No release date (La La Land & Greatest Showman songwriters writing new songs)
Rose Red (Snow White’s sister) – No release date
Prince Charming (Snow White’s lover) - No release date
Lilo & Stitch – No release date
The Jungle Book II - No release date
Nottingham & Hood (Robin Hood) – No release date (said to be similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean)
James and the Giant Peach - No release date
Chip n' Dale - No release date
Night on Bald Mountain (Fantasia remake) – No release date
Chernabog (from Fantasia) - No release date
"Tink" (Tinkerbell film) - No release date (I think this one has been shelved)

@L0RDbuckethead - Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ is rumored to start filming early next year in 2020 from what I remember, so that’s probably one of the untitled 2021 films here.
L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/7/2019, 11:10 AM
@Nerdman3000 - Definitely. Word on the street is that Disney is considering Lea Michele (Glee) for Ariel. She portrayed Ariel at the Hollywood Bowl musical production of the Little Mermaid, and apparently she is doing a great job.

Another name I heard was Ariel Winter (Modern Family), which would be funny because she's been campaigning for it on Social Media, and ya know, her name is Ariel.

@L0RDbuckethead - Didn’t Ariel Winter recently change her hair to red?

L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/7/2019, 11:17 AM
@Nerdman3000 - Yep, part of her campaigning, I assume.

I feel like I'd know if she was already cast.
Nerdman3000
Nerdman3000 - 5/7/2019, 11:24 AM
@L0RDbuckethead - I think she’d be a okay choice. Honestly, the most important thing to me is that no matter who they cast, they have to give Ariel red hair.
L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/7/2019, 11:39 AM
@Nerdman3000 - Definitely -- I fully expect her to have red hair. Others I have heard through the grapevine awhile back were Ariana Grande, Zendaya and Victoria Justice. But Ariana is probably too famous now and I'm not sure about Zendaya because of her Spider-Man committments, and that new HBO show in which she is the lead. But, I could see Justice in the role, if that's still on the table.

I honestly haven't seen Ariel Winter in anything other than Modern Family, and he character ark over the last 9 seasons has been one of my least favorites.

@L0RDbuckethead - The other major takeaway is that no “Deadpool” sequels are currently on Disney’s release calendar
L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/7/2019, 12:31 PM
@popgoezthawzul - ...or at least they haven't been announced yet. I bet they have something planned for the Merc w/ a Mouth.

@L0RDbuckethead - Re: the July 30, 2021 date - since this is a list of Disney distributed movies only, I would imagine that date is still reserved for a Marvel Studios movie, just that it will be the Sony distributed Spider-Man 3.

Homecoming and Far From Home were July 2017 and July 2019 respectively, therefore it makes sense that part 3 would be July 2021.

(i also reckon that if it were up to Marvel and Disney alone they were not be releasing Far From Home so close to the release of Endgame, but i imagine that Sony's contract with them dictates they release a Spiderman movie every 2 years in July for however long their deal runs - just a guess though)
L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/7/2019, 1:09 PM
@528491 - That's all well-and-good, and it *could* be the Spider-Man 3 date, but that's looking unlikely as that July 2021 dated is clearly listed as a Disney Live-Action movie release on the linked tweet from Erik Davis...
Deckacards
Deckacards - 5/7/2019, 1:52 PM
@L0RDbuckethead - I wonder if the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral will affect the Hunchback production dates. Is it possible they were going to film part of it actually in the cathedral? I don't know the restrictions...
