Last year, in amongst all of the 'Sony Hack' madness, it was revealed that the company were interested in exploring the possibilty of a Jump Street/Men In Black crossover. While at first the idea seemed strange, some people have warmed to it in recent months - particularly given that Phil Lord & Chris Miller are the men Sony want to lead the project. It's easy to see why. Having delivered two of 2014's funniest films in The Lego Movie and 22 Jump Street, the dynamic directing duo seem like the perfect pair to turn this kooky concept into a smash hit.

While promoting his latest TV show, The Last Man On Earth, over on Coming Soon, Miller had a few words to say about the project, confirming it was in the early stages of development..

“Well, it’s very, very early on in this crazy fever pitch, but it’s definitely a really interesting concept that makes you think. Talking about it, developing it with Jonah and Channing and Rodney and the studio, we can’t just do the, ‘Hey, it’s the same thing again’ schtick because we did that already.”

Miller and Lord have notably just dropped out of directing the sequel to The Lego Movie. Could this be the reason? The duo are in high demand at the moment, with many fans eager to see them involved in a superhero movie. What do you want to see them tackle next? Drop a comment below!

Ugh. I have no idea why Lord and Miller would be involved in such a gimmick.

Just wait for the MIB rights to revert back to marvel THEN we can have the crossover we have been dreaming about for years

The fact that everyone is complaining is the perfect reason to make this thing real.

I thought that a sequel to 21 Jump Street would be one of the dumbest movies of 2014.

I was so wrong. These guys can make anything work.

Honestly, at least they're willing to fail in new ways for once, rather than in the same old ways that they usually do. I give them TONS of credit for that. Seriously. No snark whatsoever. Taking risks > playing it safe, 10 times out of 10.

People calling this a terrible idea are what is wrong with movies today.

This insane stupid idea is what we need from Hollywood. Not more reboots, rehashed sequels, and remakes.

This is the kind of batshit insane idea I want to see, assuming it's done well, and you know Phil Lord and Chris Miller will make it well.

If you don't understand why they are interested in this, you never understood the Jump Street franchise anyway.
