MEN IN BLACK 4 Will See Academy Award-Winner Emma Thompson Reprise The Role Of Agent O

The new Men In Black movie has been referred to as a reboot, but the fact that Emma Thompson is set to return as Agent O would seemingly confirm that it'll actually be a follow-up. More past the jump...

Two-time Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson (Harry Potter, Howard's End) will return as Agent O for the new Men In Black movie.

According to THR, the acclaimed British actress has signed on to reprise the role of the MIB Chief alongside newcomers Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. Liam Neeson and Kumail Nanjiani will also star.

Though the new feature is being set-up to relaunch of the popular sci-fi film series "on a bigger and more global scale," Thompson's involvement obviously confirms that it will connect to the previous three entries in the franchise.

Men In Black zaps into theaters on June 14, 2019.

The more I hear about this the more I’m looking forward to it. I’m not hugely invested in the franchise but have enjoyed the first and third films and cautiously optimistic about this one

@Armageddon26 - The second one was good. I don't understand why people don't dig it.

@Goldboink - Agreed. If it weren't for Brolin, I'd be inclined to say the second is better than the third.

But Brolin nailed that young Agent Kay role to a T.

@L0RDbuckethead - I rewatch the first two but not the third. It's a little too heavy for me.

This movie series was only relevant in the 90s.

@Edministrator - Weird that 2 of the 3 films in the series were filmed after the 90s

I didn't recall her, but it's nice to see she decided to return. But yes so much for it being a reboot.

This movie is going to be so good. Extremely excited for it, and I can't believe I am.

This awesome cast, great director, solid writers...

@Menks123 - I dont really like the cast. I mean, I like hemsworth and tessa thompson, but it feels like "people liked them in thor, lets do that again but as MIB". It feels lazy and uninspired. Lets see.

@L0RDbuckethead - I really liked his music for King Arthur, even though the rest of the movie wasn't very good.

@MUTO123 - I thought King Arthur was ok. It wasn't great, but I loved Jude Law

@MUTO123 - Haven't seen the film. I loved Hunnam in SOA, but I heard mixed things from that film and haven't brought myself to watch it yet.

Worth it, or nah?

@SmokingMan - It was a little better than I was expecting it to be. Granted, it's easy for that to happen when your expectations are at basement level. The things that got me through it were a few of the actors and scenes like this where it drops the whole epic fantasy shit and feels like more of an old-school Guy Ritchie flick.

@L0RDbuckethead - I'd say rent it. For the reasons I listed above, it's not that great but it was better than I expected. And regardless of everything else, it's still better than the OTHER King Arthur-related movie from last year.

@MUTO123 - Haha ok cool, I'll give it a shot. I'm not the biggest Guy Ritchie fan, but from that scene you linked to SmokingMan looks well done.

And I gave up on the Bayformers after the Dark of the Moon. I will say that I'm excited for BumbleBee though. It looks like a much-needed 'palette cleanser' from the Bayformers, if you catch my drift.
