After a lengthy wait, Universal Pictures unleashed the second trailer for their upcoming Tom Cruise-led feature The Mummy at CinemaCon, and it was met with an incredibly strong positive reaction from the audience, with many praising the epic scale, the blockbuster action, the terrifying horror elements, and the mystery surrounding Cruise's hero.

As for when we'll get a chance to check out the new trailer, that's still uncertain, but rumor has it, it may be debuting this Sunday during the season finale of AMC's The Walking Dead, which is coincidentally just around twelve days ahead of the release of Universal's next big-budget film: The Fate of the Furious.

In anticipation of the upcoming trailer, Universal has released a new one-sheet for the film little early, featuring Sofia Boutella's ancient villainess giving us a menacing stare with her double irises. Check out the new poster below:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy features:
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Tom Cruise as Nick Morton
Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet/The Mummy
Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey
Jake Johnson as Sgt. Vail
Courtney B. Vance as Colonel Gideon Forster
Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde
Javier Botet as Set
Selva Rasalingam as King Menehptre
Dylan Smith as Lorenzo Montanari
Rez Kempton as Foreman
Chasty Ballesteros as Kira Lee
Marwan Kenzari as Agent of Prodigium
Alaa Saif as Sickle Slave

I actually like the effect of her eyes "multiplying".

Reminds be a lil bit to the final villain of Bleach. =P

I really hope this is good. I want the monster verse to succeed. The old ones were amazing for their time. Bringing them back is awesome.

Nothing in this movie looks scary. It's just another Tom Cruise action movie. Which is a shame because a shared Universal Monster movie Universe would be awesome, this just looks like a bad start.

@deloreantmmc - Ever since it was rumored that The Rock would portray the Wolfman, I lost a lot of confidence in this franchise.

Ill guess we will have to see when this movie comes out and they cast Wolfman.

@deloreantmmc - I am curious, though. Because this is from the creators of the Sleepy Hollow TV series, and that looked to be advertised as kind of an action show at first, with the Headless Horseman firing a machine gun on police officers. So we never know. It could be like "Edge of Tomorrow", where Tom Cruise was kind of advertised as this badass action hero fighting aliens, but he turned out to be a complete coward and a war deserter at the beginning of the movie. It could be much scarier than the trailer is letting on.

Something about this poster's design makes it look like the title is "The Mummy Summer", which sounds like a really lovely romantic comedy.

Meh. Not excited about this at all. Why didn't they start with the Swamp monster or something more unique? I'm sick of studios doing the same ideas over and over.

This film and this universe has so much potential to go and carve a notch in cinematic universes.

Audiences were once captivated by Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Phantom, The Invisble Man, Frankenstein's Monster and more.

They are ready to be so again and reward Universal handsomly.
