Ok, I know a lot of people known some pretty bad actresses that have played some of our beloved comic book characters and have ruined their name on screen. I have compiled a list of my choices of the worst female comic book worst roles.

5. Halle Berry/ Storm (X-men)
In the comic books she is more dynamic and powerful, and not in the movies.
4. Jessica Alba/ Invisible Woman (Fantastic Four)
She's just so whiny...
3. Helen Slater/ SuperGirl (Supergirl, 1984)
She is no Superman or Superwoman, she's nothing in this movie.
2. Jennifer Gardner/ Electra (Electra)
What was this movie about? I don't know... Horrible fight scenes too
1. Halle Berry/ Catwoman (Catwoman)
She knew this was bad if she herself went and accepted her own Razzie.

Now what do you think?

Its a good list. Halle Berry as storm was definately dissapointing since she is supposed to be this great actress. And I refuse to watch Catwomen even though I collect comic book movies with a passion.

I would have to add Rogue from the Xmen movies not because of Anna Paquin (who is drop dead georgeous and plays the role well) but due to her lack of powers and importance.

Also I disliked Lex Luthers girl friend from Superman Returns. She seemed to add nothing to the movie and yet take so much away.

What about the 5 BEST roles?

You know, I agree with Rogue. She is such a dominant character in the comic books and the X-men movies do Rogue absoleutly no justice.

I think I will the 5 Best roles. Thanks for the idea

they are all pretty bad.. i did like helen slater as a kid tho so i have a bit of a soft spot there. invisible woman is a usless character anyway so no big loss. biggest dissapointed has to be elektra..although garner played the role half decent in daredevil

Good List. I'm going to be first out of the gate with my top 5 (note - these are not in any order);

Michelle Pfeifer - Catwoman
Freakin' great portrayal, badass outfit. Rowr.
Rebecca Romijn - Mystique
Also, great portrayal, a few bad lines, but all in all, bang up job.
Yuriko Oyama - Lady Deathstrike
She was a badass, whether she died or not.
Selma Blair - Liz Sherman in Hellboy. Niiice.
Gwyneth Paltrow - Pepper Potts. Remarkable job by a very beautiful woman. Again, rowr.

mmm, no Brooke Shields - Brenda Starr on the worst 5? don't know if you saw that movie, let's just say you will definately laugh.

IonParallax I have to agree with your list minus Michelle Pfeifer, I never really liked her in that movie.
I would switch her with Natalie Portman from V for Vendetta. That movie is amazing and Portman is just too sexy for words, even with a bald head.
And Selma Blair would top my list, she is drop dead georgeous, rough around the edges and a great actress.

Question: Does ANYONE like Kirsten Dunst as MJ, cause I cant stand her.

I actually do kind of dig Kirsten Dunst. I like her portrayal as MJ, she is the quintessential girl next door, not necesarily the absolutel bombshell of a piece of arse she is portrayed as in the comics nowadays.

Not even that she should be a bombshell, she just doesnt seem to have the confidence and draw that MJ always seemed to have. Plus I think the way they have been going about their relationship through the 3 films could have been done better.
I personally am hoping for Gwen Stacy to get a bigger role. Bryce Dallas Howard is beautiful.

Off the top of my head: Five Best; no order-
Natalie Portman - (V4V)
Thora Birch- Enid (Ghostworld)
Lena Headey - Queen Gorgo (300)
Lori Petty - Tank Girl (Tand Girl)
Margot Kidder - Lois Lane (Superman)

And a special TV nomination-
Erica Durance, for her Lois in smallville. She's my favorite character cast now that Lex is gone.

But with white out, watchmen, wonderwoman, and other strong female part movies that DON'T start with W coming out, the list might just change soon if we're lucky.
