In April 2010, "Kick-Ass" was released in theaters. It was a hit with audiences because the main character did something that all of us have secretely wanted to do: Become a superhero! This movie was just supposed to be a movie, and I don't think that the director or any of the actors expected it to be anything more.

They were wrong.

This movie inspired people to become real life superheroes and to stop crime in their neighborhood. These real life superheroes hope to make their streets just a little bit safer.

One example of a real life superhero is Christian Tyler Hardee, a 20 year old student living in Tennessee who dresses up as a superhero and calls himself "The Viper." He walked around and looked for crimes to report to the police. For some reason, the police of his small town didn't like what he was doing and told him that they didn't need help from amateurs.

I don't know why they would say that because these "amateurs" are usually the people that see a lot of the crimes on the streets, but oh well! I hope that this student continues to do this without the police knowing, and who knows, maybe a superhero will appear in your town!
