Already known is that Underworld director, and hubby to sexy Kate Beckinsale, Len Wiseman has been picked to helm the film.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Joby Harold is in talks and is the name that has been floated to pen the movie.

Harold is best known for writing and directing the 2007 thriller Awake starring Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba,

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing along with Atlantis Rising creator Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.

Atlantis Rising revolves around an underworld civilization that wages war against the rest of the earth.

"In all the classic versions of this kind of movie, the threat is always from the stars," Orci told THR. "The idea that it's somehow our cousins who went off in a different path of evolution who have been here, literally, underneath our oceans. ... That's fascinating, the idea of secrets right under your nose."

I agree. Could be an excellent movie. We will have to see how it develops though.
They could easily ruin it.

Rorschach-

A bit like Jessica Alba???....That is a dead on cartoon drawing of Jessica Alba!!! Even the thumbnail on the homepage had me thinking "Nice! More Jessica Alba in a Swimsuit!!!(...big fan of Into the Blue!)"

Even more interesting is the fact that the scriptwriter has worked with her before...i know it doesn't mean much, but here's to hoping that means she's got a shot at it =)

I'm sorry, but if this junk makes it to the big screen before Michael Turner's Fathom, there is something seriously wrong with the universe.
