First, let me say thanks for voting, I had some great participation on this poll with over 1,200 votes! There were a few surprises, at least to me; I thought that some of the choices would score higher than they actually did. It seemed to come down to two! Here are your results:

8 Votes (.62%) Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman & Hugo Weaving as V

11 Votes (.85%) Jack Nicholson as Joker, Gerard Butler as King Leonidas & Ed Norton as Bruce Banner

12 Votes (.93%) Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spiderman

13 Votes (1.01%) Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury

16 Votes (1.24%) Mickey Rourke as Marv

27 Votes (2.10%) Wesley Snipes as Blade

32 Votes (2.48%) Ron Perlman as Hellboy

33 Votes (2.56%) Ian McKellen as Magneto

43 Votes (3.34%) Brandon Lee as Eric Draven/The Crow

57 Votes (4.43%) Chrsitian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman

64 Votes (4.97%) Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach

72 Votes (5.59%) Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

110 Votes (8.54%) Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman

130 Votes (10.09%) JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson

170 Votes (13.20%) Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man

220 Votes (17.08%) Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier

240 Votes (18.63%) Heath Ledger as Joker

Again, thanks for the votes. It's always great to get all the opinions from so many people and put them into one artilce. Let the discussions begin!!!

Not at all shocked by the winner. I was, however, surprised that Michael Keaton scored so low. Same for Jack Nicholson and Ed Norton.

Nice job Ecks

Ledger did an outstanding job of a character adapted from a comic book.

RDJ & Stewart both did an outstanding job of a comic book character.

I liked Heath Ledger as Joker but Stewart as Professor X was spot on IMHO.

I think Crispin Glover would of done a way better job as the Joker. Heath was exceptional. Crispin just looks more like the Joker and is a fantastic method actor.

I think the problem with polls in general is that you only get one vote. We should be able to rank them from best to worst that way Norton, Rourke, and Weaving would have gotten some love. I do feel though that Stewart's mom did get freaky with an X-Men comic so we could get the perfect Professor X.

How is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine rated so high?

Hugh Jackman is a good actor, but he is no where near what Wolverine should be. He only has the facial hair and 1/4 of the attitude.

I think Christopher Reeves should be #1, but I'm not surprised at Heath's Joker.

Chritopher Reeve was by far the best. Micheal Keaton is #2 in my book. With Tobey Maguire #3.

Aww Damn. I was really hoping it would be either Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach or Christopher Reeves as Superman.
I can't think of either character without picturing those great actors.

But in the end, I'm glad that the top spot went to a great actor (at the very least).

yeah brandon lee was the man, he would have been my choice of nightwing if he was still alive. most of those castings were good. didnt care too much for toby maguire as spiderman tho, they should have given topher grace that role instead of venom.
