In the past, James Bond films have featured iconic henchmen like 'Jaws' (Richard Kiel) from The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, and 'Oddjob' (Harold Sakata) from Goldfinger. According to two sites, mi6-hq.com and jamesbondradio.com, the twenty-fourth Bond film wants to bring back that element to the long-running franchise. Below, is the character's name and a description of what type of actor Sam Mendes would like for the role.
Hinx (Male, 30 – 45) - Ideally over 6′ 2″. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.

BOND 24 will be directed by Sam Mendes ("Skyfall"), from a screenplay written by John Logan. The cast will include: Daniel Craig as James Bond (007), Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. The film will be released in the UK and US on October 23, 2015 and November 6, 2015, respectively.

I want to see a young guy as Blofeld. Like Dane Dehaan. TASM gave him a bad lot, he would make a great super villain.

@Dudeguyman

They're not looking for hokey, they're looking for iconic. Jaws and Oddjob were iconic, I see no reason an iconic villain wouldn't fit in these new Bond flicks.

I'm all for iconic henchmen. They haven't really even attempted that since Stamper and Dr. Kaufman in Tomorrow Never Dies but what really makes a Bond film is Sharks...fricking Sharks...

When you force something to be iconic it's not going to be iconic, it's just going to feel forced.

Hinx? That sounds like a cover name. I don't see them naming a character with a name that is so similar to one of the worst Bond girls, Jinx.

I actually don't mind seeing iconic henchmen being brought back into the franchise. Jaws was campier than Oddjob, because the James Bond movies were more campy and tongue-in-cheek during Roger Moore's run.

This henchman won't be campy at all. He'll fit with the more serious tone of the new movies.

Skyfall was good, but Casino Royale was iconic and is my favourite!.

Hard to think of an Iconic villain without thinking what their novelty 'evil' is - eg); Jaw's metal jaws... Rosa Klebb with her venom-laced blade hidden in her shoe.... OddJob with his deadly blade-rimmed throwing hat...

Hard to think of a 21st century one as the new Bond films have dialled back the self-parody and cheese - but I don't know.... maybe some kind of bionic hand that can crush throats or something?..... *shrugs*

How does one hate Skyfall? It literally is the best bond film of all time, and this is coming from a fan of the old ones.

More gadgets more futuristic like. iconic villains. thats what I want to see and huge weapons. Thats what I loved about the pierce brosnan films they always had some kind of super weapon. they need to bring that element back to the bond films. mix the new films with golden eyes tone.

They should make a classic bond movie, for example Bond spying on a military base or something like the old movies.
