Denzel Washington is eyeing ZAPT! A TOKYOPOP/"American made Manga for kids" title. The manga series was developed by Keith Giffen, Shannon Eric Denton and Armand Villavert. Washington is interested in being a producer, and might not be part of the film as an actor(though a cameo will be a possibility). This project could either be for film or televison, live-action or animation, information is still limited as of the moment.

The story of ZAPT! revolves around the adventures of an ordinary boy, Armand, who was drafted by an intergalactic police force. So aside from activities in school, doing homeworks and facing bullies, he has to be ready to report at any moment for the Pangalactic Order Of Police(P.O.O.P.). P.O.O.P.'s employ kids rationalizing that they have that instinctive nature that allows them to master alien technology that transforms this younglings into Superheroes. In school Armand's a troublemaker but in space he is a peacekeeper.

Hmmmm.... sounds like Green Lantern Lite... DC please bring on GL now!

He can act, but I wonder how he would do as a voice over. Producer should be a good start.

One of my favorite star trek series, I mean the original, next generation, ds9 and enterprise were all awesome in their own ways, but I loved the cast of Voyager and Janeway was an amazing captain.

As for this though, I've never read the book/manga/whatever but with an acronym like P.O.O.P.I think I might be outside the target age range.

A7 - how obscure was that comment??? Most of you are probably not even old enough to remember Scott Baio in Zapped (1982). Cute little movie though!
