Hello everyone, today in this special editorial I am here to discuss about a certain character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hawkeye also known as Barton. Seriously how can someone with a bow and arrow even qualify as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent it’s illogical yet still fans love him. He made his first forgettable appearance in the lesser MCU film Thor where he did absolutely nothing. Then in The Avengers he even proved his unneeded presence even further being one of the first characters brainwashed by Loki in the first ten minutes no make it five minutes of the film and helping him escape with the Tesseract! Then after that he caused even more trouble in the film with him being brainwashed by leading a group of dangerous mercs aboard the Helicarrier. So yeah he gets unbrainwashed so many minutes later manages to shoot some aliens in the Battle of New York with his unlimited arrow power and that is it for Hawkeye currently! After that embarrassment we could see why Marvel wants to set back Hawkeye even further. Nowhere seen in any of the current phase two films even Captain America: The Winter Soldier with the heavy S.H.I.E.L.D focus in mind. Maybe he could randomly show up in Agents of Shield but I doubt it. Avengers 2 is another possibility but they are already cramming in more characters to the mix which would put his focus backwards even further. So what many fans are wondering in mind including myself, where the heck is Hawkeye?

Theory Number One: Hawkeye was Sent on a Bogus Mission - So S.H.I.E.L.D looked over his current records and is seeing how much he is currently failing. So they decided to think of something random he could do like going on a treasure hunt for this strange item on a remote location that they give an explanation it has a cosmic background. So yeah Hawkeye believes every word of it and gets shipped on this island in the middle of the nowhere searching for this random item. S.H.I.E.L.D just drops him off on the island and never comes back for him. Then all of his files are erased and Nick Fury would just have to say he decided to quit the team because Loki’s brainwashing caused him even further traumatic problems and stress included. That would lead to a point being a reference in Captain America: The Winter Soldier possibly stating he is on a covert mission. Nobody mentions him anymore and it’s done. Why would Marvel do this? It would be a further insight to why S.H.I.E.L.D can not be trusted all the time. They did manage to cover up Coulson’s disappearance till his sudden revival so yes this is definitely a plausible theory. As Coulson said he was moved to a remote location.

Theory Number Two: Marvel is Currently Looking to Re-Cast Hawkeye - Yes re-cast decisions within the current MCU is very common now. They did it with The Hulk, War-Machine and Fandral from Thor. So this is another highly likely theory. Renner did express his displeasure with his role in The Avengers recently and yes Marvel definitely read in within the lines. To my belief Hawkeye would be the better re-cast choice if Marvel had to choose one from The Avengers. Number one aside he didn’t make as much of an impact within the film to contribute to the actual team with only a record of 12 minutes in screen time. So maybe he could get re-cast for an extra few minutes screen time for the fans with an unknown actor. Since Renner would cost a lot of money.

Theory Number Three: Hawkeye was Not Real – Ready for a huge mind twist. Hawkeye was not real at all in any form of way. In truth someone was there but it wasn’t really what people saw him as but in reality he was just an average S.H.I.E.L.D agent with a unique talent which is why he was always put on the first line. Why could this theory be real? Well people generally always look towards a symbol or hero to base their strength upon. They looked to this average S.H.I.E.L.D agent named Clint Barton as this super amazing man with a bow and arrow to their mind is a hero. What they are doing exactly is over glorifying his efforts of what his capabilities are. Everyone perceived at first hand who he was but in truth it was all an illusion played in their minds that everyone has created. We all have had an imaginary friend that has guided us through life. So why won't this theory be plausible?

Well where do you think Hawkeye is? What do you think? Thank you for reading. Also here is a video from The Avengers of Hawkeye being owned by Black Widow in a fight for further reference.

Disappointingly I was rather interested in a discussion about this and a bit of banter about possible theories.

Then I saw Jacky's name attached...

Given that Selvig went bat shit crazy after Loki raped his mind, I'm thinking Hawkeye has/had some issues after Loki too, so he's on vacation. All they'd need to do is mention him somewhere and where sorted.

Anyway, when u get the chance, I'd appreciate it if u could check out my Daredevil cast; http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Room20/news/?a=87602

You'd think that he would at least appear in CA: TWS. But then again he did kind of have a thing with Black Widow, and from the looks of it, Marvel is trying to build up some kind of thing between Black Widow and Cap in this movie. So that would complicate things I suppose by having him in that film.

But still... I wonder the same thing. It'd be cool if he showed up in Agents of SHIELD. Hell, he should be one of the leads beside Coulson. Like Coulson's right hand man. Perfect way to have him included still.
