FAN-ticising: Which Comic Book Character Should Benedict Cumberbatch Play?

He's been teased as many different comic book heros and villains. But who will Benedict Cumberbatch play in a CBM, if he ever does play in one?

Benedict Cumberbatch is a fantastic actor. Well known for his roles as Sherlock Holmes in the hit BBC show Sherlock and as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, Cumberbatch has gained huge recognition in the comic book community. I have seen him in many fan casts as both heroes and villains, but IMO, there is only one role that Mr. Cumberbatch can play.

Eobard Thawne aka Professor Zoom in Flash

A sadistic speedster from the 25th century, I have strong feelings about this role as Cumberbatch has already played a villain out of time role in Star Trek. His role as Sherlock Holmes shows he has the intelligence to play this particular villain. I would love to see this type of casting happen. But this is all my opinion.

What do you guys think? Would Benedict Cumberbatch not make an awesome Professor Zoom in a Flash film, or even in the upcoming TV show? What about roles you personally would love to see him in? Leave your thoughts bellow.

Flash is rumored for a 2016 theatrical release, and he is set to make his live action TV debut in Arrow Season 2.

Any CBM would be fortunate to have him as the lead.

Lots. Galactus, Ultron voice, Thanos voice. Martain Man, Brainiac. Zoom would be a waste of his talent. Either get him in a lead super hero, or as a big villain that needs a team to take him down.

Would he have gotten this CBM love if he wasn't in Star Trek??? I don't think so cause Ive been on this site for years and never heard 1 fan cast until the movie came out. Now they have whole articles like "What character should he play?". Im not hating on him at all I think he killed Star Trek but there are a lot of really dope actors out there capable of playing physical roles. Anyway I would go with Brainiac.

I think he'd be best as the Question. He may be no Batman but Andrew Scott (who plays Moriarty on Sherlock) would be a fantastic Joker.

He could play anyone from Dr. Strange, Mr. Fantastic, Joker, and yes even Batman.

Heh, I'd watch a movie with him playing a mop. He's just that good of an actor.

Yes, Cumberbatch is definitely the way to go if we get to see Zoom on the big screen.
