GOLDEN GLOBES 2022 Winners List: DUNE And Andrew Garfield Win Awards, But No Love For WANDAVISION

You'd be forgiven for not realising, but the Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles last night. Due to the pandemic, no celebrities were in attendance and the event itself wasn't televised. Of course, it also took place in the midst of controversy following allegations of corruption and a lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association!

Winners were announced on social media, and we now have the full list of results for you.

It was a good night for Netflix, with huge wins for The Power of the Dog and tick, tick... BOOM! (leading to The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield winning "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical"). Dune, No Time to Die, and Encanto picked up some solid wins, but as is so often the case, this wasn't an awards ceremony that recognised blockbusters.

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were both nominated for WandaVision, but neither won, unfortunately. On the plus side, O Yeong-su nabbed an award for his work in Squid Game.

Check out the full list of nominees and winners below:

What a great run it’s been for Andrew the past month, happy to see him succeeding and getting so much love after all that mess with TASM films.

@LeonNova - you're talking like he hasn't had an extremely successful career after Spider-Man... ever heard of Hacksaw Ridge? Man fully deserved the Oscar and lost out to an abusive pedo. Robbed. He's tipped for the statue now for Tick Tick Boom, and this was all before Now Way Home came out. Yes it's nice to see his Peter Parker getting the love he deserved, but don't think he was sitting in some motel drinking himself to death crying about what some nerds online thought of his Spiderman.

@globaltravels - Never said bruh was just having a flop career, but it’s definitely not unreasonable to say he’s enjoying a mainstream resurgence on a higher level than he’s seen in awhile.

The Underground Railroad is SO GOOOD!

I literally cried like after almost every episode.

Anyway I didn't like Hacks that much, it just didn't make me laugh or care for any of the characters (even tho I like Jean Smart).

@UXASIS - I'll probably get a Prime subscription either around the time of The Boys or the Lord of the Rings show, so I'll keep it in mind for them. Definitely does look like it could be great

@bkmeijer - I'm not gonna spoil it for you, but I gotta say it just pumps the ideas of racism and slavery (of the south USA in the 1800s) to the max.

And Joel Edgerton is playing the main bad guy, and every scene with him was perfect.

@UXASIS - already figured it was a show that would really explore themes and perspectives deeply, so that is great to hear. And Joel is always great too

Honestly, I didn't think Power of the Dog was all that great. Felt like nothing significant happened in the movie, and when it actually did it played off like it wasn't.

Cool to see Andrew Garfield and Michael Keaton pick up some awards, because they were phenomenal in their respective roles

Why would Wandavision win anything?

"this wasn't an awards ceremony that recognised blockbusters"

Yeah, No Time To Die was an indie film.

tick, tick...Boom! was a real treat. Just watched it last night. Between Spiderman:NWH and Boom! I really madem me want to see more Garfield as Spider-man with a GOOD director and script. Garfield is an amazing talent.

Didn't we all agree that the Golden Globes were a scam? Am I taking the crazy pills? Why would anyone care what they do, whether you agree with it or not?

@Fogs - Award shows give all the nominees gift bags filled with expensive things.

The Golden Globes one was 14k last year and the Oscars was 200k+.

Yeah a lot of that shit I will never watch.

Dune
WandaVision
The Squid Game

That's about it on that least.
Fogs

@marvel72 - Wandavision deserves a chance. The best thing they did was a mid-season episode where they explain what's going on, so they wouldn't lose the audience that's not into the theme so far.

Haven't seen Dune yet but it's on my to-do list.
