EW Online has had a 64 person poll tournament going for the past month with all sorts of monsters, vampires, and even mutants. The people voted for all sorts of sci-fi characters such as Dr. Who, Wolverine, and even Ms. Pacman. Well, now after much rabid fandom, it's come down to two contestants. One of them is Edward Cullen of Twilight fame, and the other is Damon Salvator of The Vampire Diaries (which was written before Twlight, thank you very much!).
While Edward Cullen is charming, a sweetheart, a complete gentlemen, and probably protrayed as a much more attractive character in the Twilight books, but to say that he's "a sexy beast" would be a bit much considering that he does sparkle in the sunshine. Edward Cullen is played by Robert Pattison, who just like the rest of the entire Twilight cast, looks better in real life without that "immortal vampire beauty".
So who is his competitor? Enter Damon Salvator! He's not a good guy that you would want your daughter to bring home. Don't even invite him in the house, but he is a vampire that doesn't sparkle and The Vampire Diaries television series just wouldn't be as awesome without his sarcastic sayings and his flirty eyes. He is played by Ian Somerhalder who was also well known as Boone from Lost and he also played Adam Knight on Smallville, one of Lana's pointless relationships. I didn't find him sexy at all as Boone and while on Smallville, I didn't understand how I was supposed to be content with him taking screen time away from Tom Welling, but Ian transformed into a completely different person when he took on the role as Damon. His performance is so good that I found it shocking. He makes you want to root for the bad boy.
But the moral of the story is one of them is a sexy beast and the other is a charming prince from a fan girl's fantasy. So if you can clearly see the difference or if you just despise Twilight and want to stick it to em', I encourage you to vote for The Ultimate Sexiest Beast and I really, really hope the winner doesn't sparkle.
