But seriously, I think this guy hit the nail on the head in the last bit of the video. Disney hasn't ruined any franchises yet, they haven't saved any franchises yet, no one can see the future, so there is no point in asking, so there is no point in worrying, as Batman put it.

I can think of one franchise that Disney has totally butchered...their own!

The song accurately talks of how Disney sanz anything masculine. Back when it was run by Walt, they had a ton of shows that were adventurous and masculine. Not now. Its run by women and sodomites.

Tyler, I can't believe you are going to make a defense for Disney on this one.

What makes ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's parody so funny? Its because of the large amount of truth mixed in (irony) it. Ok. I'll grant you POTC, but with one caveat; Jerry Bruckheimer made the rules about how he'd do it. Disney pretty much stayed out of his way and distributed it. Money is what pushed it, because Bruckheimer wouldn't do anything less than pg-13.

If they let Bruckheimer do his own thing, why couldn't they do the same thing for Marvel?

Disney knows how to make movies. They have been around for decades, they respect their subsidiary companies and let them have control, like with Pixar.

Not entirely. They typically know what is going to be made before they put their name on it. Disney almost died out in the 70's before it went corporate sleaze.

I agree with bats... I know disney has the rep of being... well, Disney-like. But, Pirates definitely broke that mold for me, especially the third one... I mean a kid got hung and a prostitute got shot in the head. Overall, the third pirates had a heavier tone than Iron man and the Hulk. Disney's not dumb, I'm sure they're worried money above all else. The Pirates series makes up 3 of their 5 highest grossing movies ever(1,2 and 5), I'm sure they're gonna make Marvel films that will draw in adults... except Ant-Man, but who cares about him...?
