Note: The IMAX 3D version is the only one out now in theatres. The regular screen version is out October 4th.

As soon as I was directed to put on my IMAX 3D glasses I was submersed in one of the best 3D concert films ever. Enter one of the greatest concert/movie films ever made, "METALLICA: Through The Never". The film begins with Dane Dehaan descending towards the arena on a skateboard. He steps inside and Metallica begins to rip and roar with their opening song. There is tons of great imagery and cinematography due to the excellent directing efforts of Nimrod Antal. Then Dehaan's character is called on a mission for Metallica and things begin to escalate even further.

The movie is a mix of mind blowing concert footage and another movie in one following Dehaan's characters pursuits on making it back as he tackles on crazy rioters and mayhem throughout the streets. Without going into spoilers this film is absolutely amazing. It feels like a genuine spiritual journey. Metallica fans are in for a treat and even if your not a Metallica fan but you deeply appreciate rock n roll your also in for a treat it has something for everyone. The IMAX 3D blends in so well and even with the power of the IMAX sound you actually feel your in the concert itself. The ride wasn't over yet as one of the final songs Enter The Sandman faded out. There was not one moment I was ever disappointed. It's near perfection. At times I did want to jump out my seat and rock on with the audience in the film. “METALLICA Through The Never IMAX 3D” is a great experience and one that would want you to come back again.

My rating for “Metallica:Through The Never” is a 5 out of 5. It's definitely one to look out for. Thanks for reading!

I'm personally waiting for the lazy shmuck who sits at home and watches this on his old PC to come in and say "OMG , it was such a lame movie, effects were good but the story was weak".
