Jason Statham Not Interested In Any "Fairy-Like" Superhero Roles!

He's been linked to roles in both the upcoming Daredevil reboot and a fourth Transformers movie, but the British actor has now made it clear that a tights and cape just aren't for him...

Talking to The Guardian, Jason Statham has pretty clearly distanced himself from any superhero roles, despite being rumored to be up for a couple of them in the past. It seems he's happy with the likes of The Expendables and Killer Elite, although it does sound as if there's a small chance he could be convinced...as long as it's not too "fairy-like" that is! Many thanks to CBM's own "Graphic City" for the heads up.

"Me in a cape? I don’t fancy that. Tight tights? Nah! I don’t think that’s right for me. I just respond more to true stories, that’s my flavor. […] I dunno. Luckily, I get to play some good bits that make people think I’m tough. Who knows! Ha ha ha! I just gravitate to those more testosterone-filled sort of parts than me playing something a bit more fairy-like."


What do you guys make of Statham's comments? Looking back on his past roles, it IS hard to imagine him suiting up as a hero, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a comic book movie at some point in the near future! Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Has he never seen the Transporter movies? He's half nude and covered in a thick fluid in every one of them...

I don't blame him, the way superheroes have been butchered and watered down, can't see him playing a decent one anyway. If I had to pick one, he should be the Punisher...witout hair of course.

I used to love this guy but he plays the exact same role in every movie and it gets less cool every time.

I'm glad he doesn't want to play a superhero i don't like him he's always trying to be so tough it's irritating and he can't act and his movies are bad

I can understand that when it comes to certain characters, but like HellScorpion said he would make a great Kano. IN FACT aren't they making another Mortal Kombat called Retaliation .

Most of his films are unwatchable and low budget and his age started to show in his fights as early as Transporter 3 which was [frick]ing terrible.

They won't be asking your old ass to play a fairy, bud. They've already got a B-list action star to do that; The Rock.
