The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 now brings the franchise to its powerful fourth chapter in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) now fully realizes the stakes are no longer just for survival -- they are for the future. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

I expect Mocking Jay Part 2 to fire on all Cylinders since it left so much hanging in the balance because of the studio cash grab.

@GentlemanlyBatman
I agree that the franchise won't have the lasting appeal of Harry Potter, but I like the films a lot and will certainly remember them. Catching Fire was one of my favourite movies of the last few years.

I wasn't that into Mockingjay Part 1 but there is enough there for me to be excited for Part 2. It will also keep me occupied while waiting for Star Wars Episode 7!

Agreed, @WakandasSoul, but I mean, Jen always looks great period. It looks like the suit has been modified slightly since the last film.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Lionsgate's cash grab fuelled decision to split these, and Part 1 suffered for it too. Still, even if It may have started slowly, boy did that movie end really well! Those final scenes were great. Looking forward to the big finale now.

I actually really liked part 1. It seemed to be more of a political thriller than an action movie which was cool.

Can't wait till it's over!

But we'll get subjected to more comparable teeny bopper b.s. franchises like Maze Runner and the Divergence series.

*Sigh*

@TheMarvelite

Used to hate this series having only seen the first one; decided to watch catching fire and it blew my mind like Empire Strikes Back. It had a great cast and pace, better effects, better story, and mocking jay improved even further.

Seriously anticipating the final one, and it has Gwendoline Christie!
