LOCKE AND KEY May Be Heading To The Big Screen; Second POWERS Pilot Fails To Impress FX
Locke And Key looks set to finally find a home on the big screen as a TRILOGY, while the second pilot of Powers has reportedly once again left FX bosses underwhelmed, meaning we may never see the Brian Michael Bendis adaptation on television.
According to the folks over at Latino-Review, Universal have decided to bring Locke And Key to the big screen as a trilogy. Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) helmed a TV pilot which wasn't picked up despite a well-received SDCC screening, but it's not known at this point whether he would have any sort of involvement with the films. The adaptation will reportedly be written and produced by Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci (Star Trek). In related news, another TV pilot which has apparently failed to impress network bosses is the SECOND pilot episode of Brian Michael Bendis' Powers. It seems as if this is one project which may never find success. After all, it's hard to imagine that FX will want to spend money on giving it a third chance. Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this news in the usual place.
UPDATE: Brian Michael Bendis has now taken to his Twitter account to deny these reports and says that "FX'll announce stuff when ready". We'll see...
