Mark Hamill will be directing a film adaptation of his and Eric Johnson's 1996 Dark Horse comic mini-series "The Black Pearl."

For those of you who don't know, the comic tells the story of Luther Drake, a troubled man turned costumed vigilante through accident and media pressure.

Hamill stated that he's keeping the film's budget in the $5-7 million range as it allows him to direct it and which will also give him much more creative control.

The goal, he says, is “to make a movie the studios wouldn’t make.”
