In Marvel One-Shot "The Consultant" they horribly try to make it look it look like the scene from the end of The Incredible Hulk where Tony walks into the bar to talk to General Ross about "the team", that he's talking about the Abomination?!

It is CLEAR that when the Incredible Hulk came out, Tony was talking about Banner, not about Blonsky.. And to this day when i saw that Marvel One-Shot i was like, "So they are going to act like that wasn't a hint towards the Avengers..?"

Now we all know that the scene was in fact referring to Bruce Banner, and the Avengers, Then they thought they would just cover that up with some false story that was obviously not true to the real scene.. Cause i loved that scene, then with the stupid MARVEL short "the Consultant" They basically said, "Wait! it's not what it was originally intended to be, we're making it look like its about the Abomination now!"

Also the Incredible Hulk is based during/after Iron Man 2, because at the end of Iron Man 2 when Nick Fury is talking with Tony in the room, a News report is on in the background.. Well that same new's report is in Iron Man 2. Connect the dots there.

They made the consultant because zac penn was writing the avengers at the time and he based it off the ultimate avengers film. Then whedon came and re wrote it and changed everything and marvel made this clip.

What?

You mustn't have been paying attention. They were after the hulk but Ross wanted to put abomination in. They sent in Stark to piss Ross off so that he would drop the notion all together.

It's true, this is a pretty pointless editorial. But mostly because it's just the same thing said over and over, slightly reworded. Could actually be even shorter.

I disagree, it was a clever bit of retconning so that scene made sense in continuity again.

The Avengers was destined to be a very different movie back then. Starting with IM2 and following with Thor and CA, you can tell how much the studio had changed in terms of tone. There are certainly things they had intended to do that drastically changed as each new film came out. This scene in particular being one of them.

There's really no use in getting upset about it, as small things like this litter the Phase 1 movies. Just be grateful that they were actually able to make it to an Avengers film.

I agree with Humby just be happy Marvel actually cares enough to go back and try to explain some of their more glaring plot holes.

I feel like the writer of this article missed the point of the "One-shot" entirely. Before, it looked like Tony was forming the team, but after Iron Man 2 we see its unclear if Tony would even be considered for the team. After that they fixed the problem with the "One-Shot".
