Michelle Rodriguez Isn't A Fan Of Female Superheroes; Says She'll Have To "Invent One"

While chatting to EW about her love of comics perhaps leading to a potential role in a future CBM, the Fast And Furious 6 actress admits that although she's a big fan of male superheroes, the ladies just don't do that much for her..

Michelle Rodriguez has carved out a bit of a niche as an action star, having appeared in the likes of the Resident Evil movies, Fast And Furious, Avatar etc -- and definitely seems to like a bit of physicality in her movie roles. Because of this fans have wondered if it was only a matter of time before she donned a costume of some kind and joined the ranks of the comic book movie universe. Well, there might be a very good reason why that hasn't happened yet as EW found out when chatting to Rodriguez about her latest action role in Fast And Furious 6.

“I was a big Iron Man, Superman, and big Spider-Man fan. I love all the DC Comic characters. I love all the great male superheroes. They’re awesome. I especially love the rebellious ones like the Punisher. Like when he went head to head with Spider-Man? That was so cool!

There aren't a lot of chicks that I like at all in comics (she say Catwoman is an exception), as a matter of fact, in order to have one, I’d probably have to invent one. They just don’t exist now.”

There were a few whispers of Rodriguez being in the mix to play Wonder Woman a while back (whether in the short lived tv series or otherwise in unknown), but nothing concrete ever materialized. Do you guys think she'd suit that role or could you see her as a different character? Sound off below.

Michelle's would be a difficult one to place as a superhero. I know she's a bit of a tomboy and some will say she's not a natural beauty - but she scrubs up well:

Maybe a gender-role superhero swap would be needed to find her a role:

Cast her as Wonder Woman. Better than Gina.

Well I'm not a fan of a one note, squinty eyed, sour puss faced skank with kitten breath, so good stay away from my movies!

I love it when actors/actresses give their real non-biased opinions about stuff without having to prise any studio just for the sake of it.Good for her.

I can see her as Cheetah in a Wonder Woman movie. Keep her away from playing Diana Prince though.

She really goes out of her way to look "tough" and "badass" doesn't she?

Intruder

Nobody's a fan of you too.

If we're keeping Michelle away from Wonder Woman, let's keep Gina Carano away from Wonder Woman too.

@PaulRom

Good call!, I could see her as Cheetah in a skintight leopard suit, she wouldn't go for it though.

Plus she has seriously done her knee in poor girl and has to wear a brace for action-scenes.

I would prefer a REAL actress for Wonder Woman. Not someone from the Fast & Furious series or someone from the UFC or MMA. A REAL actress.

Gina Carano is already dating Henry Cavil...so looks like their doing some Twilight crap and will have them in a movie together. I think Gina is perfect for Wonder Woman.

Pretty cool that she likes comics and at least she's honest. In before hate comments about how much of a bitch she is because she doesn't like female comics characters

Can't blame her, a lot of female characters in comic book have problems, a lot of them are sort of glorified sidekicks and of those that aren't few are in the spotlight as much as a lot of male superheroes are.
I would see her as Marc Andreyko's Manhunter though, but I can see her as Wonder Woman anyway.
