To bring more light to other cultures and regions of the world, where Comics exist. I bring you the latest news where East meets West. DC COMICS will be joining teams with Teshkeel Comics to bring you DC Universe most powerful team The Justice League and The 99 in a upcoming Mini Series. "THE 99 team, which debuted in June 2006, was recently identified by Forbes Magazine as one of the Top 20 Trends Sweeping the Globe.” The 99 are based on Islamic culture & traditions.

Coming from the homeland of Rorschach01 is Irelands own John McCrea who helps with pencilling the comics. Some of his noticeable works include: Hitman, which won him an Eisner Award in 1999. He has worked for Marvel & DC on other projects. Check out his website.

As some of you probably known I did article recently on Middle East Comics. An attempt like this to bridge gaps in culture, society, & people of all ethnic backgrounds Probably wouldn't of been possible durning the Bush years in the U.S.

The 99, (Partner with the Cartoon Network)

Spock--this is a real popular series that is already pretty big.

An interesting concept. Do you know what Islamic traditions the 99 are based on? Are we talking like elements from 1001 nights or more based on Muhammad and the Koran?

@ thywhtg., sorry about that just been busy, u know how it is sometimes. But to answer your ?. They are based off The 99 attributes of Allah (gOD) for example: Jabbar, The Powerful. Universal virtues. But to point out they aren't all from the Middle East but from around the world & there religion of each character isnt' depicted.
