Monster Zoo Picked Up By Sam Raimi and Paramount

The graphic novel Monster Zoo, published by Image Comics and set to be released in May has been picked up by Paramount Pictures.

Doug TenNapel's graphic novel "Monster Zoo" is an action adventure story. An ancient idol is found and taken to a U.S. zoo. The idol spirit wake and mutates the animals. Then a band of teenagers fight back to stop the evil.

Image Comics will publish it in May as Paramount studio is already planning the live-action adaptation. Sam Raimi has been tapped to produce along with Josh Doen of Buckaroo Entertainment.

Currently no writer is attached for the adaptation.
