MY Formula for a JLA Movie

MY Formula for a JLA Movie

What is the Formula for a good JLA movie? Everyone has said their piece.. Most recently, Joss Whedon said his Piece.. Here's mine

First of all.. I think that contrary to what people say, A Justice League movie CAN work, if you have the right ideas for it. I also agree with Joss Whedon's statement that, these characters are larger than life, and should be handled as such. He are my thoughts on what will make a JLA movie relevant and how it can be made in such a way that, it does not come off as a rip off of Marvel's The Avengers, seeing that, using the MCU formula and linking the movies together might not work, and even if it does, audiences would have seen it before, and it will not be anything special. To make a Justice League film that will truly please the audiences and excite the fans, We must first pull out the liberties we have, as a comic book property. Forget realism, and do what comics do best.. bringing the impossible to life.

I think a JLA movie, should be made with a "CRISIS" type story. The premise of this movie, will start and end with Darkseid. Who finds the Anti- Life equation, and decides to re create the universe to his own liking. But the Gurdians of the Universe, being who/what they are, find out about this, but are powerless to stop it. Hal Jordan is made aware of this, and is told that There is a reason why everything circles back to the planet Earth. Human beings, and our humanity, is what can save the universe now. Due to Darkseid's manipulations, soft spots have been torn into the fabric of space time and the multiverse has Merged. So all these guys who lived in their own reality, are now part of this new reality. But no one except GL knows this. The Guardians tax him to get the worlds greatest heroes together, band them together and save Earth. For the destruction of Earth and humanity, is the final piece to the Undoing of the Universe. But he will also be told that he is only to to find them and convince them to stand together against Darkseid, but a natural leader will emerge among them (which will mess with HJ's ego). It should be more like a hero's journey involving these people who do not remember what things were before (having their own solo universes and having never heard about each other before) but are willing to fight, to keep things the way they are. So after Darkseid's defeat, The new Universe can unfold from there with prequels of how they got to the "Crisis" point and sequels of After. This is just my idea for making a cinematic Universe if that is tangible, and not derivative of what has already been done before.
Another Good way will be to Adapt Flash point as a lead up to a Justice League Movie. The whole world knows these heroes a certain way. Flashpoint pulls the curtains back and the story would have audiences rooting for things to go back to the way they were. They will want Bruce Wayne back in the cowl, Superman not being a skinny prisoner, Wonder Woman not being a heartless Amazon. This Adaptation will also give The Flash genuine relevance as a solo hero (Explaining the speed force to audiences and showcases the extent of his gifts. ie. he's not just a guy who can run really fast). This is a solo movie where the Flash will gain serious respect from audiences and its ending, which beautifully sets up the new status quo, would be a great lead in to a shared Universe. In fact, this way, Bale, Cavill and Reynolds get to come back to their roles without having to worry about continuity. Its will also be a chance For DC to showcase some of their unknown characters, as the minor guys factor big time in some pivotal scenes of the Flashpoint story.

This is just what I feel could be done with the property. Oh and guys, this is my last Article before I leave for Air Force training in Texas.. So see you guys in 12 weeks! Thanks for reading

I respectfully am gonna have to say that it'll be more interesting if they go the Avengers route and not have it be soley on just one hero. The main focus should be on either Batman or Superman but everyone has their moments. I personally won't care at all for Green Lantern because of his debut film and Flash, I don't know anything about him except that he runs super fast, which is a dumb super power but that is me and again I don't know a thing about him. Again it'll be more interesting from the main point of view of either Batman or Superman. Sorry bro, but nice write up.

Flash can move his body at super speeds. Apart from the obvious running faster than Superman, BARRY has applied quite a bit of science to his powers. A character who can accelerate his body to the point of intangibility can pass through objects. A character who can move at this speed can (and has) use that force and momentum to microwave and snap freeze inanimate objects over a small amount of time - similar to how a stone hot out of the oven will crack apart if run under cold water. He has (with the help of other characters) created a machine that uses his power to travel through time.

Educate yourself on the Flash, man, you're missing out on a great character.

Anyway, to this article...
Why jump the gun on Darkseid? It's like putting Thanos as the big bad of the Avengers in their debut. Darkseid comes from another plane of existence, although I guess they could change that to another galaxy if they wanted to. Still, he needs a bit more introduction, as does the Anti-Life Equation.

Gotta point out here that Christian Bale is retiring from Batman after The Dark Knight Rises. He's said so in different interviews how this is the last time he'll be putting on the suit, playing that character; how he had to "say goodbye" to Batman. Even if they asked him to come back, he played a Batman made by Chris Nolan, and the two were adamant that this Batman can only fit in his own continuity, none shared.

The Justice League is going to have to start from scratch.

@Tainted87 Reading it again.. I believe you have a point. It was just an idea on how they can do it without it looking forced. But i still stand with the Flashpoint story.. even if they will recast Batman and GL

Darkseid as the first villain? I don't know if that'd work, especially seeing as he would already have the Anti-Life Equation. Darkseid really should be built up on a trilogy.

Call me a fanboy for suggesting this, but why not have Starro the Conquerer as the main villain for the first villain. Starro can be portrayed as he was portrayed in that Batman: Brave and the Bold episode, an intergalatic being who travels the universe sucking the life of the inhabitants of each world with these starfish spores that allows him to gain control over the inhabitants of the planet. I think, for story sake in terms of Martian Manhunter, Starro is responsible for the death of all the martians and J'onn luckily escaped the event due to an accidentle transport similar to his origins.

But that is my basic ideas of how a JLA movie can work out.

Yes, but Darkseid has been around since the 70s in the comics. He's yet to make a movie debut outside of a direct-to-dvd film. I like Darkseid, I'm not opposed to him as I am Thanos - I just would rather Warner Bros build up to him, rather than throw him at the Justice League. He isn't a threat to Earth, but all of existence.

@Emjeed: I respect your opinions but if it were to be a grounded, engaging Justice League movie it would have to be from the main points of Batman or Superman with some focuses on Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. Now that green guy (Idk his name) he could possibly be like Hulk and be the background, unexpected character and surprise the audience somehow.
