Seems British soap actors are doing pretty well in the states.
I'll always remember her from Hollyoaks.

Not familiar with her, but she is quite lovely. I would rescue her any time.

@mgeoff88

Just make sure she gave you permission first. -eyeroll-

I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression, but I must ask the ladies of the world today, out of all the things men can do to make you seem "inferior", is being rescued such a bad thing? I don't want women to be or feel helpless by any means, but I kind of want the traditional male hero to stick around too, you know? It'd be awesome if they (Johnson, Walker, Emmanuel) could "save each other", but let's just say she wasn't in a position to save them, who would she want to save her then? You know, not everything said or done is an insult to her (or any other woman's) femininity.

@Dukov No, I haven't watched Game of Thrones.

@Optimist18 Well, that goes back to whole "damsel in distress" thing where female characters served as a love interest for the hero to just rescue.

Thankfully, movies have moved beyond that with making female characters stronger(IM3 and TDKR for example). I get where women are coming from, but all characters need to be rescued sometime. If it's handled properly, it shouldn't be taken in such a bad way.

If a woman rescued me, I wouldn't feel like less of a man. It was obviously necessary for her to step in and help me. After all is said and done, I would thank her and move on.

@mgeoff88,

This is true.

Yes, they have moved beyond that. And like I said, I don't want female characters to be helpless. But I don't want there to be so much "empowerment" that it becomes excessive, and male characters become the useless ones. There's a balance to be found, and too often people (male or female) lean too far in either direction.

I would do the same thing. : )
