The Jetsons movie was set to roll with Robert Rodriguez, but it seems that doesn't pan out. Project falling apart is not new in the movie making business. Rodriguez is still working on Machete and Predators. On to his replacement
Here's a portion of the report from firstshowing.net:
...Peter Segal, who last directed Get Smart for Warner Brothers, is the studio's top choice. Apparently his deal is not in place yet, but it's a sure bet he will be the one who ends up taking over the reigns. They also say that the screenplay that John Altschuler and Dave Krisnky (both of "King of the Hill" and Blades of Glory previously) wrote last year, while good, wasn't good enough. The studio couldn't get any actors attached, like Jim Carrey, and are going to be scrapping it and looking to write an entirely new one once Segal is on-board. But they haven't hired a new writer and won't until Segal is signed.

Spotlight #3 (Marvel Comics, 197x)
The Jetsons #1-5 (Harvey Comics, September 1992 – November 1993); Big Book #1-3, Giant Size #1-3

I think Segal is a good replacement, he did bring the laughs in Get Smart. Though I hope he would start with the SHAZAM! movie. The Jetsons movie could be fun if done right, if not I guess it could just bookend that Flintstones movie.
