Defendor tells the story of Arthur Poppington (Harrelson), a wannabe superhero who thinks he can thwart Captain Industry, a (possible) drug and weapons dealer. Poppington makes his own costume and becomes "Defendor," venturing into the night to fight crime with grit, determination, marbles, and lime juice.

I know people are calling this a low-budget Kick-Ass rip-off, but I dig Woody Harrelson and pretty much any CBM, so I'll definitely give it a shot!

I hope they release it in America.

@Brent: I'm with you - I've been looking forward to this for ages. And it's got Elias Koteas, one of my favorite actors; the guy was Casey Jones after all :) And Harrelson is always great.

@Breasticles: It's getting a limited release in the US starting today.

Woody said his character is mildly retarded. Is that a comment on superheroes?

Is it just me or does Kat Denning always look extremely tired? Is her eyes naturally so dark around them or is it just make-up that she always applies right around her eyes. I mean sure she is a cute big chested gal but it just takes some of her charm away with that gothic make-up surrounding her eyes...

Lol. Did I just say a whole lot of non-importance there? Well anyway Defendor looks sweet, and Woody rocks!!

I disagree to those that feel this is a ripoff of Kick-Ass, this is no different then the type of premise given in Blankman or Mystery Men.

I'm definately gonna give it a shot, it looks to be pretty good. Of course, I'll not be able to get enough of Kat between this movie and Thor...

I hope we get a hundred more of these cynical takes on the superhero genre, because the weren't already tired decades ago.

Had to step in and defendor this amazing movie. I found this movie on a fluke and now me and all my friends have been quoting it all week. Having watched "Kickass" last week as well. Let me say that kickass was pretty good, slightly absurd but if you have a good ability to suspend beleif its pretty cool. Defendor you dont have to suspend any beleif, the story is plausible, the acting is amazing (harelson is hillarious but also devout in his integrity)This movie is actually quite powerful in its message of doing the right thing and courage. I highly reomend this!

oh and clearly her character is a junkie so that hopefully explains the sunken eyes (less the ragged clothes did not)
