SITE UPDATE: Hall of Shame

Hey CBMers, you may have noticed that the Hall of Shame troll badges have changed, and so have the descriptions. Here's the poop!

Along with our recent site revamp, we've decided to take the lessons learned from the Hall of Shame these past months and give it an upgrade as well.

As you know, we (the owners of the site) allow a lot of freedom of speech on CBM, and unfortunately that allows for a LOT of negative shenanigans. That is why we designed our unique automated reporting system, to help us combat TRUE trolls and identify inappropriate comments that need to be deleted. It's been very working well, helping to get rid of persistent troublemakers, but these new tweaks should make it work even better.

Initially we had each different type of abuse separated into its own report: Namecalling, Threatening, Whining, Inappropriate, Piracy, Spamming etc., but that was too much reading for most of you lazy asses, and we found that many users weren't labeling the offensive comment correctly. We decided that it was because most people weren't focusing their report on the comment, but on the commentator himself.

Also, some strange individuals, despite the threat of being disabled, seemed to enjoy getting those cute little troll icons by their avatars. So we figured we needed to get rid of the badges and just spell out the offense they had been reported for. Here are the new abuse labels and their meanings.

Annoying Wanker - Whiners, Firsters, Spammers, Crybabies, Tattletales.
Crazy Psycho - Nutjobs and Crazies.
Mean Bully - Namecalling, Insults, Threats, Racism, etc.
Perverted Weirdo - Crude Language, Lewd images.
Troublemaker Troll - Inciters, Impersonators, System Gamers, Revenge Reporters.

Hopefully this simplification of the abuse types will help everyone use it more better. ;)

PLEASE NOTE: Only report offensive comments (or chat) as described by the descriptions above. Do NOT report persons for having a differing OPINION!!! Users who abuse this system will also be disabled. That means YOU Marvelites and Nolanites! No more revenge reporting or you lose your accounts.
