Here is my personel picks for the best movies of the genre

THE DARK KNIGHT (2008)
Regarded by many as the best Comic Book Movie of all time and one of the best movies ever made. TDK is the most successful movie of the genre and brought us a legendary Joker performance by the late Heath Ledger. The Dark Knight Rises really is going to have a hard time topping this one.

IRON MAN (2008)
This is one of MARVEL's finest moments, Robert Downey Jr was just perfect for the part of Tony Stark.

300 (2006)
I really loved this film and Zack Synder really delivered on this one and being a history buff it was cool to see this legendary battle come to life on the big screen.

BATMAN (1989)
For all the faults this film has it made people take Batman serious again and for that Tim Burton has my thanks.

BATMAN BEGINS (2005)
Chris Nolan restored Batman in all his glory with this film and WB should be comended for giving Nolan a shot at this legendary character.

BLADE (1998)
The movie that really kicked the CBM genre into high gear, Wesley Snipes was perfect for the part and was better than his comic book counterpart.

BLADE 2 (2002)
The sequel was even better than the first Del Toro took this franchise to even greater heights.

CAPTAIN AMERICA : THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)
It's a shame it took this long for CAP to get a movie that was worthy of his name but he finally got one.

THE CROW (1994)
Brandon Lee gave his life for this film and his performance is a testament to the talent that was lost.

X-MEN : FIRST CLASS (2011)
I went into this film not expecting much but left totally surprised by how good it turned out to be.

HELLBOY (2004)
Del Toro and Perlman delivered on this one big time.

HELLBOY 2 THE GOLDEN ARMY (2008)
Even better than the first.

KICK-ASS (2010)
I really thought this was going to be crap but I was wrong.

SUPERMAN THE MOVIE (1978)
The grandaddy of all comic book movies and still to this day one of the best.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)
The most underrated film of the genre and one of my absolute favorite films in the genre too.

THOR (2011)
The scenes on Asgard are breathtaking and Hemsworth is worthy of holding the mighty Mjolnir.

V FOR VENDETTA (2006)
I don't know how faithful this film is to the comic but I loved this fim.

WATCHMEN (2009)
Zack Snyder did a fantastic job. Loved it.

X-MEN 2 (2003)
Singer made an awesome sequel to what was a lackluster first film in my opinion.

Good list but where's Spider-man 2?

Great list. I'd personally remove Batman '89. I absolutely loved that movie as a kid, but rewatching it the other day, I just didn't like it at all. It's not bad, it just isn't good. Chris Nolan brought us the first truly great Batman film, (although his vision obviously isn't the be all end all of the character).
And yeah, where's Spider-Man 2?

I'd remove thore and cap from the list. They are the worst movies marvel studios released thus far. Not that they were bad, just kinda bland. They had no coolness or style when it came to action... they should be replaced by spiderman 2 and scott pilgrim vs the world...
