The Future of the MCU

The Future of the MCU

Once The Avengers have assembled and Iron Man concludes and Thor has another epic adventure, when should the next additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe be introduced?

*Disclaimer* This is no longer happening due to the announcement of two secret Marvel projects in 2014

There are heaps of new projects Marvel are planning to venture on post-Avengers, including War-Machine, Black Widow and Hawkeye spin-offs, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, another Punisher reboot, Black Panther and the Inhumans - as well as the possibility of an Incredible Hulk sequel and a Captain America sequel in development. One thing I've never understood and most Marvel fans question this is: why are Marvel films strictly summer fare? I reckon if X-Men 2 was released in late 2002 as planned (although the script would've suffered big time) we'd be seeing a lot more Marvel films released later in the year. Therefore, there should be three maximum each summer and one later in the year (summer gets more as there are more weekends whereas fall isn't quite as competitive) This is how I believe the timeline should play out between 2012 and 2016 which is when the next Avengers movie should come out.

I really hope that Marvel gets it right having so many productions in development and they should choose their teams wisely. The fact that there are so many they are willing to embark could be the death of these movies, but if they find the right people to take helm of each of these films, the results will be extraordinary.
