The Hunt For Gollum is ON!

Aragorn hunting Gollum? I'm sold! This fan made film is good enough to at least be released on DVD.

I usually don't get into to many fan made trailers because they are well, whack, but the this one makes me want to see the whole film. If released on DVD I'm sure it would be a sleeper hit -- meaning no one would expect it to make any money but imagine the surprise when it did. This 40 minute fan made film will be available for free on May 3, 2009. Regardless I can't wait for more middle-earth.

Isn't GOLLUM CGI ???? Heh heh, joking, nice fan trailer! Its cool its going a head, the HOBBIT that is! Was never really a LOTRs fan till i saw the movies!!! The closest i ever got was fantasy WARHAMMER years ago, sorta, well it was mainly 40,000 stuff! Hey why hasn't HOLLYWOOD done a EPIC WARHAMMER 40,000!!!!! Now that would blow everyone away!!!

Cool. They could put this in the Hobbit..although its doubtful since Aragorn hunts for Gollum between The Hobbit and LOTR and they already said that ther not doing any filler parts

Not bad looking, considering it's probably all on a credit card budget.

I'd like to see a Drizzt Do'Urden film based on The Dark Elf Trilogy. The idea of a drow elf going against his race's inherit nature and becoming a rogue would make a pretty good fantasy/character piece.

I agree Weaponx, I think they need to start with the Dark Elf trilogy, and then follow it up with the Icewind Dale trilogy! I would spackle the ceiling with joy!

Or how about a Tales of the White Wolf series?! Elric of Melnibone, on screen?!
(That ceiling's going to get another coat.)

its not difficult to make a trailer look cool, although i'm optimistic about this one.

WeaponX: I think he's trying to say that HE couldn't understand what language we were speaking, but then again... When you don't read so good, you can't write so good. (I think it's time for somebody to get hooked on phonics!) lol

And yes, that's how we roll. We also like to play the occasional "Who's In My Mouth".
(Dane Cook stole that one from me! Summabitch...) lol

a Drizzt movie would be intense! I haven't read the books myself but my friend explained A LOT of it to me, enough for me to know it's frikkin sweet lol. That could be a couple epic movies. Oh yeah and this trailer was pretty awesome too, looks like it would have been fun.

Well made Drizzt movie = Sheer Awesomeness.

However also = very controversial. A world where all good elves are white and all but one black elf is evil. LOL.
adamant877
adamant877 - 4/29/2009, 2:17 PM
Demonwolf: Ironically, I never thought of that before. Color me stupid, but I always realized that they were called "Dark Elves" because they, well, live in the dark. And I always assumed their skin was ashen because it was a natural way for them to blend into their surroundings. Funny, that thought never even crossed my mind. lol

adamant877: I thought the same way for a long time, then got into a discussion about how D&D is very racist (all ~insert evil race here~ are evil, so it is okay to destroy them). Then we got talking about Drow and it just cracks me up whenever I think about it. People are way too touchy these days.
I really do think it would be controversial. And it is sad because it actually has a really good message and be a great movie. Oh well.
adamant877
adamant877 - 4/29/2009, 4:09 PM
Demonwolf: I hate to disagree with you, but to take the other side of the debate... To say something that is "black" or "dark" is evil is a generalization that has been a staple of human history since the dawn of time! We're afraid of the dark because we cannot see, it blinds us, and we cannot understand what goes on in the dark. Our vision is by comparison our conception, or our understanding of things. Dark elves are evil, not because they have dark skin, but because they live and dwell in darkness, and use that darkness to their advantage to commit evil acts and evil deeds. I think the allegorical story of Drizzt Do'Urden is a PERFECT example of what I mean!
I agree that African Americans have had to deal with a pretty heavy burdon of proving their merit over a pretty flimsy theoretical mindset, but that comes from ignorance in and of itself! The only way to combat that ignorance is to educate others, and "take away the darkness that blinds them".
We give monsters alignment modifiers so that we KNOW who the enemies are, if we didn't it wouldn't be a very universably understood method of game play, now would it?
But that goes to prove another point entirely... It's just a game, and you have to take it at face value that it's just a game. Just like reading Harry Potter in no way means that I intend or want to be a Satan worshipping witch/warlock, it just means that I like reading books!

Kind of reminds me of an old adage:

"And you cannot judge a book by it's cover my friend, but then again, the cover sure as hell tells you what's in the book, doesn't it?!"
