Phil Lord and Chris Miller's delightful brick-based adventure may have been snubbed at the Oscars, but The LEGO Movie got some well deserved recognition at the 68th annual British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTAS) where it won Best Animated Film. There weren't really many other CBM related winners, though Christopher Nolan's Interstellar was given the award for best visual effects. Birdman pretty much lost out on all major awards to Boyhood, which won Best Film along with a Best Director gong for Richard Linklater and a well deserved Best Supporting Actress award for Patricia Arquette. Elsewhere, Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) was the best Leading Actress for Still Alice, and Spider-Man's J.K. Simmons walked away with a best Supporting Actor award for Whiplash. if the awards are 'British Academy'... why most nominees and winner are american films?

shouldnt the Baftas award the british industry, like most countries do with their own movies?

I just hope How To Train Your Dragon 2 wins the Oscar. Honestly, I'd say the first movie arguably deserved it more than Toy Story 3. I have high hopes for the third movie, but we can't know for sure that it will be as good as the first two so this may be the best chance for the HTTYD team to get its recognition from the Academy.

As much as I enjoyed the Lego Movie, I find the ending way too...tidy.

It just wrapped itself up in 5 minutes with hardly any progression to the point that it looked like another author was given the script to finish it because it was running long.

Maybe it's just me.
