JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 REVIEW:

Credits: Geoff Johns – Writer, Jim Lee – Pencils, Scott Willaims – Inker, Alex Sinclair – Colorist.

Story: GCPD is chasing Batman, who is chasing a creature (a Parademon I presume) who’s been setting off alien explosives all over Gotham. Things take an interesting change when The Green Lantern appears.

My take: It’s not a bad issue, I have to admit that it seems a bit short and a bit uneventful for a first issue. I enjoy it, but… Most of the issue is all dialogue how is an all dialogue piece supposed to get new readers? It’s a good read, good art, but if I wasn’t a comic book fan I would’ve given this to some neighborhood kid. It takes a fan’s interest to stay in the book.

Now to be fair the plot-lines set up in this are interesting to comic book fans. What will new Darksied look like? What is he planning? Is this connected to Superman? These questions are the only thing really keeping me in.

Hopefully the fight in issue two between Superman and Batman will be strong enough to bring in new readers.

All in all I enjoyed it, I’ll read the next issue, but this isn’t Johns’ best work and is largely saved by Lee’s pencils. So hopefully Issue two will introduce a lot more action and story.

all in all I'll be fair and give this a 3/5.
