THE SURROGATES Adds Ving Rhames To The Cast

The indie comic book The Surrogates from Top Shelf Productions, written by Robert Venditti and drawn by Brett Weldele is getting set to hit the big screen with strong cast.

Ving Rhames signs on to join in The Surrogates, just as Bruce Willis had ready signed on to star. Other actors also on board are Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill), Rosamund Pike and Ned Vaughn.

Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) is set to direct with a screenplay from Michael Ferris and John Brancato.

The Surrogates, is set in 2054 where people stay at home while their lives are lived out by "surrogates," that are robot clones. The clones are under a terrorist attack as the terrorists decide people should be living their own lives. Two detectives are trying to stop the "surrogate" killings.

The film is being produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Film along wtih Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks. Production is set to begin in late April.
