When asked what the content is of the title character in Mayhem, Gibson replies:
“He’s a gun-slinging vigilante who seeks refuge from the basement of a church,” Tyrese said of the comics’ main character, who resembles the actor/singer/model in more ways than one. “He’s like a modern-day Robin Hood, who wants to take from the bad and give it back to the good and do whatever he can do to make life better in L. A.”
We all know comic book movies are tearing it up right now. With the recent success of Iron Man, and The Dark Knight Hollywood has no other option but to develop comic book movies for the big screen. Not only for the success in revenue but also Hollywood has ran out of original ideas to turn into full length feature films. Somewhere somehow a Hollywood big wig said "Wait a minute, there is a new source for original material, no its not from George Lucas, or anyone else in Hollywood, its from Original Marvel Maniac Stan Lee, and the good people over at DC Comics, there is a wealth of original story lines that can translate to the big screen."
When asked if Mayhem was getting the big screen treatment Gibson had this to say:
“No,” he said in refreshingly uncertain terms. “Right now, my one-and-only focus is making this the best comic book it can be.”
“The fans get kind of ‘I don't know’ about comic books when your main intention is to turn it into a video game, merchandising, and all of this,” Tyrese explained. “So, there are no plans to turn it into a film or any other intellectual property. We are just going to focus on making this into the best comic book.”
When the Mayhem people finally decide to take that plunge and turn Mayhem into a Movie hopefully they do not let Fox Studios buy the property, unless they don't want the movie to follow the comic book that they are so closely trying to develop.
