Until DC Comics greenlights the rumored Veronica Mars series, we can at least get our Kristen Bell fix.

NBC is adding the ex-Miss Mars to the cast of Heroes, according to Variety's Josef Adalian. Snagging Bell for this gig was a major coup for the Peacock, as it's been reported that the petite blonde star was being courted by several TV productions, including Lost.

KB will debut on the superhero series in October as Elle, a sexy, mysterious young lady with ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle makes her mark right away, by committing a serious crime.

"This was not easy to pull off," said Heroes creator-exec producer Tim Kring. "But since we’re an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in [Bell’s] schedule."

Bell's other (sort-of) genre role is in the upcoming Weinstein Co. "Star Wars" comedy flick Fanboys.
