WildStorm/DC Comics RED Headed to Big Screen

Summit Entertainment has picked up the movie rights for Warren Ellis' comic series Red.

A three issue mini-series from 2003, Red centers on a former black-ops CIA agent who is suddenly the target of an assassin. The man must reunite his old team and find out who's trying to take him down. The series was illustrated by Cully Hamner.

Summit Entertainment now has the movie rights for the adaptaion and this is the first time that a DC Comics title is not coming from Time Warner. Brother writing team Erich and Jon Hoeber (Whiteout) are working on the script.
