PREDATOR Becomes PREY In New TV Spot For Dan Trachtenberg's Upcoming Prequel

On the heels of the full trailer, 20th Century Studios has shared a new TV spot for Dan Trachtenberg's Prey, giving us another look at the Predator on the hunt. Check it out...

20th Century Studios debuted the first full trailer for upcoming Predator prequel, Prey, earlier this week, and we now have a 30-second TV spot (via SFF Gazette) for the upcoming Hulu Original movie featuring quite a bit of new footage.

The promo reuses some shots from the trailer, but we also get a new look at Naru (Amber Midthunder) and her tribe as they prepare to track the ruthless alien hunter that's been picking off her friends.

Speaking of the Predator, there's a brief glimpse of the un-camouflaged creature lowering his shield, and it looks like they've gone with a very different mask design this time.

While chatting to ComicBook.com, director Dan Trachtenberg said he looked forward to bringing fans of the franchise a Predator they're not used to seeing.

"I think our Predator, in my mind, not only does he exist 300 years before, but I think in sci-fi movie terms, time moves very slowly. If the way that Star Wars functions or even Star Trek, you know, it's like 300 years. Ships aren't suddenly so different."

"But I think this guy's perhaps from a different hemisphere of the planet and a little bit of a different breed," he added. "So even his look is a little new; it's familiar but new. So I'm excited for people, even for diehard fans, to really see something they hadn't seen before."

Check out the new TV spot below.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan, Treadstone), and produced by John Davis (Jungle Cruise, The Predator) and Jhane Myers (Monsters of God), with Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Marty Ewing (It: Chapter Two), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (Fantasy Island) serving as executive producers.
