John Williams Wants To Return To Compose The Score For J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

John Williams has worked on all eight of the films in the core Star Wars saga, and now he's confirmed that he wants to return for Episode IX to see the saga through.

"I would very much like to complete that, the legendary composer told Variety, adding that he already let director J.J. Abrams know he wants to compose the score for Episode IX next year.

With Williams on board to return, there's no doubt Lucasfilm will welcome him back to close out the nine-film saga. Though it should be noted that this isn't confirmation that Williams is composing the score for the movie.

In the meantime, fans will get to hear Williams work in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which hits theaters in May. Although the Ron Howard directed film is being scored by John Powell, John Williams wrote the movie's main theme song.

Other than the kylo/rey fight against the guards, the music was the best part of the movie.

Seeing him in concert for the second time later this year. Can’t wait. Probably will be my last chance. Williams is a workhorse, but he’s approaching his 90s! :-(
